Our View:Jones was dealing with an illness most of the week leading up to the game, so perhaps that affected him. We doubt it, though.

Our View:Jones hasn't had a ton of fantasy value this season, but does have a decent match up against Arizona. You can start him if you don't have any better options.

Our View:The Seahawks couldn't move the ball in the ground at all, but it might be telling that Maurice Morris had 11 carries and T.J. Duckett had eight carries. Jones' carries continue to dwindle.

Our View:He is believed to have been frustrated when the team pulled him out on a second down in favor of Maurice Morris. Holmgren noted that he will address Jones' issue.

HC Mike Holmgren might be telling the public that the team will return to its RBBC approach with the return of Maurice Morris but there is reason to doubt that statement, according to Pro Football Weekly. “Holmgren had always said he would stick with the hot hand, so you have to think Jones will continue to get most of the playing time,” said an unamed source in the report.

Our View:Jones rushed for an average of 134 yards on 5.6 YPC the past two weeks, so it would be pretty surprising to see the team turn away from him. However, Morris has looked strong when healthy and he is clearly a Holmgren favorite which makes this weekends game one to scrutinize closely.

Julius Jones ran all over the Rams defense on Sunday. On 22 carries he racked up 144 yards and a touchdown.

Our View:Jones has benefitted from Maurice Morris' absence, however he still split carries on Sunday. This time the culprit was T.J. Duckett. Duckett scored twice with 79 yards. Jones is a good trade-high candidate as the touches in Seattle will be spread out, especially after Morris returns.

Our View:Jones' fantasy value shot up with the news of Maurice Morris' injury. He'll continue to be the featured back and get the bulk of the carries until Morris returns.

Our View:This is not surprising as Julius Jones did not handle a full workload in Dallas and was used to splitting time with Marion Barber. The team also may opt to feature the running game more early in the season, based on the current state of their receiving corps. It remains to be seen which back will hold more fantasy value, and exactly how much value that will be.

Reports out of Seattle indicate coach Mike Holmgren has every intention of using both Julius Jones and Maurice Morris as vital parts of the offense, and both are likely to receive a healthy dose of work as receivers, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:According to the report, Holmgren fears neither rusher is capable of working as the primary guy and thus they will be used in tandem, but the hope of getting them involved in the passing game is rather intriguing. Former top rusher Shaun Alexander was never a threat in the passing game, but both Jones and Morris have enjoyed strong production in such a role, and those efforts could increase their fantasy value. We'll keep you posted on their progress as training camp moves along.

The Seattle Seahawks are planning on using their running backs in the passing offense more, according to the Seattle Times. "I'm doing a lot of different things than I've ever done before. Things that I've always wanted to do but I was never allowed to do in Dallas," Julius Jones said.

Our View:The running back situation may still wind up being the dreaded running back by committee, but knowing that Jones and the others will be used in the passing game is a boon for fantasy players. In the past, Seattle had not used Shaun Alexander much to catch the ball.

Our View:Jones was expected to be the guy to get the bulk of the carries, and it may still turn out that way, but a timeshare sounds like a distinct possibility. This could be a frustration for fantasy owners, and it will likely play out on a week-to-week basis.

The USA Today reports that a Seahawks' starting tailback won't be named until late in camp. "We probably won't make that decision right until late. We'll go into training camp," Holmgren says. "You know Mo (Morris) and Julius are going to carry the ball a good portion of the time. Leonard's (Weaver) going to be our starting fullback. The one I have to figure out a little bit is how we are going to use Duckett."

Seattle Seahawks new offensive line coach Mike Solari has been very muted about some of the changes he may make along a front that was at times in tatters last season. But offensive guard Rob Sims recently revealed that Solari has been attempting to implement a zone-blocking scheme that should allow for the offensive front to be exposed less, according to USA Today.

Our View:The Seahawks have been restricted in their mini-camps because left tackle Walter Jones and center Chris Spencer have missed the entire offseason recovering from surgeries. And Sims missed part of two OTAs to recover from knee surgery. However, running back Julius Jones should be a good fit in the one-cut scheme, adding to his intrigue as a sleeper type back in 2008.

Our View:While Jones' fantasy value won't improve much while in Seattle with a committee approach, it will keep him healthier over the course of the season. Maurice Morris would likely see an increase in carries, and he will benefit from the RBBC approach, however. TJ Duckett should establish himself as the short-yardage specialist.

With news of Julius Jones signing with the Seattle Seahawks and rumors swirling of the potential RB situation up north, Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports Jones will make $5.5 million this year, according to ProFootballTalk.com. According to NFLPA records, Shaun Alexander’s (the incumbent RB of choice in Seattle) base salary is scheduled at $4.475 million in 2008. Jones’ deal is for four years and $16 million. In contrast, Alexander is scheduled to earn base salaries totaling $24 million over the next four seasons, making Jones the more affordable long-term option. T.J. Duckett was also signed recent and is reportedly receiving $4 million in guaranteed money. The writing is on the wall. Things are going to change in Seattle, and it appears Alexander's failures after getting his financial rewards are coming home to roost.

Julius Jones is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks today, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The Michael Turner signing in Atlanta, leaves Jones next in the pecking order for many teams including Tennessee, Tampa Bay, Detroit and now Seattle. If the organization were to sign Jones, the backfield suddenly becomes very crowded. Pure speculation, but it could lead to the end of Shaun Alexander as a Seahawk.

Julius Jones was in Detroit on Tuesday to visit with the Lions, according to the Detroit Free Press. Jones is the top free agent running back out there after Michael Turner signed with the Falcons. Kevin Jones may not be ready when next season gets underway, and T.J. Duckett just left the Lions for Seattle, so the team is looking to add some depth to their running back corps. The Lions also brought in free agents defensive tackle Chuck Darby, linebacker Dan Morgan and offensive lineman Corey Hulsey for a visit.

The Detroit Lions might host Dallas running back Julius Jones this week, according to the Detroit Free Press. With running back Michael Turner off the open market, running back needy teams will start focusing on Jones, who has been involved in a timeshare with Marion Barber the past few seasons. Detroit is definitely in need of running back help, with the recent news that Kevin Jones probably won’t be ready for the start of the 2008 season.

According to Pro Football Weekly, the Detroit Lions fit the profile of one of the organizations that could be interested in Jones’ services. The Lions are expected to be more of a running team in 2008 with the subtraction of OC Mike Martz, and Kevin Jones hasn’t exactly been the model of health lately. Jones has been stuck in a timeshare with Marion Barber in Dallas, but he's a serviceable back with low mileage.
