August 11, 2008 Greg Jones is expected to serve as the Jaguars' No. 3 running back behind Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew, according to the Florida Times-Union. As a running back, he rushed five times for 39 yards in the preseason opener against Atlanta Saturday. Our View:There were a few backs competing for the No. 3 role, like Chauncey Washington, but Jones looks to have the inside track. |

February 13, 2008 Updating an earlier report, Greg Jones 5-year contract with the Jaguars is for $17.4 million making Jones he highest paid FB in league history according to ProFootballTalk. The deal also includes $3 million in incentives. Jones may not to anything to excite fantasy footballers, but he obviously plays a huge part in what Maurice Jones Drew and Fred Taylor are able to accomplish each week. This new deal won't lead to any more touches for Jones, but it locks in one of the league's best lead blockers for the Jaguars. |

February 13, 2008 Greg Jones has signed a 5-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to jaguars.com, though no details of the actual deal have been announced. There are rumors circulating that this is a five-year deal for the fullback who clears the path for running backs Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. |
