Keith Smith was placed on the injured reserve by the Lions on Wednesday due to a groin injury, according to the Detroit News. The Lions signed cornerback Chris Roberson to replace him off of their practice squad.

Our View:Smith had just 16 total tackles this year with one forced fumble. He hasn't had much of a fantasy impact this season.

Keith Smith reinjured his groin in Sunday's loss to Indianapolis, according to the Detroit News. It is the same injury that sidelined him in November.

Our View:Smith is merely adequate as a pro, and held no value for IDP leagues.

When the Detroit Lions open their three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday, it will be the first time their rookies will line up against the veterans, this according to Mlive.com. Keith Smith , the running back from Central Florida, already has impressed the coaching staff with his attention to detail, not just in running the ball, but in understanding the passing game and pass protections. "I think it's really important to him and he just kind of consumes this stuff. He's a gym rat,'' Lions coach Rod Marinelli said. "He's there all day and he loves to play.

Our View:Smith is coming from an offensive system that is almost identical to the one that coordinator Jim Colletto will use in Detroit. Sleeper alert!
