November 23, 2008
Chris Cooley led Washington in receptions for the second straight week with five, going for 54 yards.

Our View:Cooley is a solid option at tight-end, averaging a tad over 57 receiving yards per game on the season.
November 16, 2008
Chris Cooley led the Redskins with seven receptions for 47 yards in the loss to the Cowboys Sunday night.

Our View:Cooley is tied with Tony Gonzalez with 55 catches on the year. He has found the end zone just once, though.
November 3, 2008
Chris Cooley caught eight passes for 78 yards in the Redskins 23-6 loss to the Steelers on MNF.

Our View:Cooley now has 48 catches on the season but just one touchdown this season. He remains one of the top tight ends in the game, but some more scoring would be nice.
October 5, 2008
Tight end Chris Cooley caught eight passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 win over the Eagles.

Our View:Cooley is finally on the scoreboard this season. He remains a solid No. 1 fantasy tight end, and it's good to see him have a big outing.

Washington head coach Jim Zorn was not pleased that a photo of the team's playbook showed up on the blog of Redskins tight end Chris Cooley, according to the Washington Post. "I think the rule of thumb that I'm going to have to contend with here is that if you have your own blog, and you're putting photos or you're even saying anything, that nothing really should be put in there that has Redskins playbook [on it]," said Zorn.

Our View:If you're familiar with the blog post, you know that the photo of the playbook was the least offensive thing about it. Cooley apologized for it, and he should use more discretion - in all aspects - of photos that he puts on his blog in the future.
September 14, 2008
Chris Cooley had five catches for 72 yards in the Week 2 win over New Orleans.

Our View:This was quite an improvement over Cooley's one catch effort in Week 1. He should continue to be a top 10 option at tight end.
September 11, 2008
Chris Cooley, who is recovering from a quadriceps ailment, returned to practice Thursday, according to the Washington Post. He was seen participating in drills with his position group.

Our View:Barring a setback, he looks to play in Week 2 against the Saints.
September 10, 2008
Redskins tight end Chris Cooley did not practice on Wednesday, according to the Washington Post. No explanation for his absence has yet been given.

Our View:Cooley had a disappointing Week 1, catching just one ball for seven measly yards. That performance combined with this news means that fantasy owners may have to look elsewhere at tight end Week 2.
September 4, 2008
Chris Cooley opened the season on a sour note Thursday night. He only managed one catch for seven yards. Although, he did have a second catch that was called back because of a Washington penalty.

Our View:Look for Cooley to rebound in Week 2 as he is Washington's primary red-zone target. Continue to start him as a fantasy TE1.

The Redskins have re-worked Chris Cooley's contract to save cap space, according to FOX Sports.com. Washington has converted an $11 million roster bonus Cooley was scheduled to receive into guaranteed money, lowering the tight end's 2008 cap number from $12.2 million to $4.4 million. The 'Skins are still currently $7 million over the cap, and that figure doesn't include contract clauses from 2007 like incentives that are still being finalized.
February 10, 2008
Chris Cooley helped Cowboys WR Terrell Owens and Vikings RB Adrian Peterson by catching 17-yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck at 3:02 before halftime to bring the NFC within three-points of the AFC. The Skins tight end registered three total catches for 41 yards Sunday.
