Coach Sean Payton states that Devery Henderson is not in jeopardy of not making the Saints' final roster, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. When asked if Henderson is fighting for a roster spot, Payton answered, "I see him fighting more for playing time. He's out with the first group, so when you look at Marques Colston and you look at Devery, those guys are right now lining up with the first group. Devery's competing against those other guys behind him. Lance Moore, Robert Meachem, those guys are wanting to get more snaps."

Our View:Henderson is inconsistent and frustrates fantasy owners with too many dropped passes, and could slide back down the depth chart as the season progresses, especially if Robert Meachem makes an impact.

Saints wide out Devery Henderson is in a battle for a roster spot because Robert Meachem has performed so well as the team's deep threat, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Henderson had just 20 catches last season, with an average of 20.5 yards per reception. The story for fantasy purposes is Meachem, however. If he continues his stellar play in the preseason, he should be someone that fantasy owners think long and hard about grabbing in drafts.

While the receiving picture in New Orleans is one of depth, an asset the rest of the league is likely to covet, there is belief that a player of value could be left off the active roster, according to Pro Football Weekly. Sources indicate both Robert Meachem, coming off an injury-plagued rookie season, and 7th-round draft pick Adrian Arrington are working as the shining models to follow in training camp. Meanwhile injuries have kept Devery Henderson out of the mix as he nurses a bad hamstring. However, it is believed the Saints view Henderson as the team's best deep threat and have no intentions of moving forward without him on the roster. Thus, with no open positions in special teams to keep both Meachem and Arrington in work, it seems likely one will be left to join the practice squad.

Our View:We had believed it would be Henderson working on the opposite side of Marques Colston despite the injuries, and PFW confirms it. Look for Meachem to earn the job in the slot, a position he seems likey to shine in based on his work in college. However, if Henderson fails to regain health and his issues for durability continue into the season, Arrington could be a player to watch.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Devery Henderson could miss another week or two of camp with a hamstring injury.

Our View:Henderson does not figure to have a whole lot of fantasy value yet he has 11 touchdowns in three seasons. He has yet to record more than 32 catches in any of those years but he's usually good for a big play or two. His absence will leave an opening for Robert Meachem to skip up the depth chart.

Devery Henderson could be in jeopardy of being cut by the Saints, according to The New Orleans Times-Picayune. The Saints have their top five receivers back from last season with starters Marques Colston and David Patten, with Lance Moore and Terrance Copper, and Henderson. Robert Meachem is impressing the Saints' staff in the early going of the off-season, and he will push Henderson for his number three role in the slot. The team also likes seventh-round pick Adrian Arrington.

Our View:Henderson has been inconsistent over four seasons with the Saints, as he namely drops too many passes, and is believed to be in the most jeopardy of being cut. He holds solid value as a deep threat, but that may not be enough to keep him in New Orleans.
