The Press Democrat is reporting that the San Francisco 49ers have reached a 5-year, $20.5 million deal to remain with the club. Sopoaga, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 29, started five games last season posting 20 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

The Niners don't plan to franchise any of their free agents, which includes Isaac Sopoaga, Larry Allen, Justin Smiley, Kwame Harris and Marques Douglas, according to the Sacramento Bee. It's been reported that Allen will retire, but with a thin market for defensive linemen, Sopoaga should draw quite a bit of interest.
