Drew Carter will miss the entire season after suffering a knee injury in Saturday's game with the Cardinals, according to the Oakland Tribune.

Our View:Carter was looking like a good bet to start opposite Javon Walker, so obviously this is a big blow to the silver and black. Ronald Curry will now get the starting nod.

Drew Carter is going to start at wide receiver over Ronald Curry in the Raiders' next preseason game against Arizona, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:Curry had one of his better practices Thursday as he made a few solid catches during team drills and 7-on-7 sessions, and has been looking quicker as of late. But the Raiders believe Carter could be headed for a breakout season, and slated him to start opposite Javon Walker in the next game, which is viewed as a dress rehersal for the regular season. The team may also think Curry is better suited for the slot.

The acquisition of Drew Carter from the Panthers could prove to be a great move, according to SI.com. Ronald Curry is slowly recovering from his off-season surgery, and Javon Walker is ailing from his recent mugging. Carter has taken advantage of the added reps in practice and may land a bigger role in Oakland this season. He has looked impressive through the off-season, and has been the best performer at the position. A Raiders' coach commented, "His game is coming around. You could see him making strides last season, but now you see the finished product. We've been impressed."

Our View:The team believes Carter could be headed for a breakout campaign. He is worth a look in the late rounds of the fantasy draft.

Drew Carter, and not Javon Walker, has been making waves so far in camp with his solid play, according to a report on Pro Football Weekly. The report states that Walker showed up to camp out of shape and that Carter, originally signed to serve as the teams WR3, has shown a nice rapport with JaMarcus Russell in the early going.

Our View:Walker is coming off another knee surgery so he can be forgiven for showing up a bit out of shape. Face it, the Raiders didn't give Walker a bazillion dollars to not heavily involve him in the offense. Still, Carter could end up seeing a fair bit of time in the slot and could be worth targeting late in a fantasy draft.
