Wide receiver Mark Jones (knee) was able to return during the first quarter of the Week 13 game against the Packers.

Our View:Jones should continue to handle both punts and kickoffs, but he has no fantasy value.

Return man Mark Jones injured his knee during the first quarter of the Week 13 game against the Packers.

Our View:Jones handles both kickoffs and punts, so the Panthers may need to go to their backup options. Jonathan Stewart could work in on kickoffs, and Chris Gamble may field punts.

The Charlotte Panthers have signed Mark Jones to be their kick and punt returner while Ryne Robinson recovers from an injury, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:Jones has no real fantasy value because he does not play offense. His only contribution to fantasy is in the Carolina D/ST unit, though he has never returned any type of kick more than 36 yards.

Mark Jones singed a 1-year contract to join the Chargers, according to the Associated Press. “Mark’s versatility was very attractive to us,” San Diego GM A.J. Smith said. “He’s an experienced NFL punt returner and a solid player who will raise the level of competition in our camp.”

Our View:Pretty much a non-starter expect in those few leagues that count return yardage, and even those gamers should be wary of adding a guy who is coming off a torn patellar tendon.

Bucs return man and backup receiver Mark Jones will miss the remainder of the season with a torn patellar tendon. This is a similar injury that ended the season of Cadillac Williams four weeks ago.
