Sean Ryan has signed with the 49ers, according to the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. The team waived David Kirtman as the adjoining move.

Our View:He will likely be used on special teams and as an H-back or blocking back with fullback Zak Keasey out for the season.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the Saints released backup tight end Sean Ryan on Thursday, which could be a sign that Jeremy Shockey's return is imminent. He was replaced on the roster by receiver/return specialist Courtney Roby.

Our View:Ryan had two catches in two games for seven yards this season.

The Saints have signed free agent tight end Sean Ryan, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The team made room on the roster by releasing quarterback Joey Harrington.

Our View:He has served time with the Cowboys, Jets, and Dolphins, and only has nine career receptions. He was added for depth while Jeremy Shockey is out of action, but will hold no fantasy value.
