With Chiefs linebacker Donnie Edwards out in Week 4, Demorrio Williams will get the start, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:Williams has been getting plenty of playing time in the first three weeks but now will get even more. In three weeks he has recorded 11 tackles and has a fumble recovery.

Linebacker Demorrio Williams will likely miss the final two Kansas City Chiefs preseason games with a broken bone in his right hand, but expects to be ready for the September 7th opener at New England, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Williams suffered the injury in practice Tuesday, but did not learn of the severity until a cast was placed on the hand later. He said the "cracked bone" is between his little finger and ring finger. He has never played in a cast, but might be forced to do so against the Patriots.

Demorrio Williams, who was signed to a long term deal in May, has not been working much with the first team thus far in camp according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:It looks like Napolean Harris will stay at MLB with Donnie Edwards atarting on the weak side. Williams will have to play much better to earn a starting position by Week 1.

KC signed Demorrio Williams as a free agent this offseason to challenge Napoleon Harris for the starting role in their Cover-2 scheme. If Williams performs well during training camp he would start on the outside with aging veteran Donnie Edwards moving into Harris' spot in the middle.

Our View:The Chiefs don't believe that Derrick Johnson has deliver on his Pro Bowl potential. He hasn't produced as the big-play provider he was drafted as. Overall, the strength of the team is defense, and the linebacking corps has question marks heading into training camp.

Although Kansas City general manager Carl Peterson has said that free-agent pickup OLB Demorrio Williams will provide valuable depth for the linebacker corps, it would be a considerable surprise if he doesn’t secure a starting job, according to Pro Football Weekly. Derrick Johnson and Williams are expected to start in the outside slots, with Napoleon Harris and Donnie Edwards competing for the middle linebacker role.
