Brad Childress and the Vikings' coaching staff are considering personnel changes and Maurice Hicks could lose his job as a kick returner as he had a costly fumble late in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Hicks holds no fantasy value as a deep reserve at running back, and would no longer be worth holding in leagues that award points for return yardage on special teams.
September 17, 2008
Maurice Hicks has missed the first two games for the Vikings but he was back on the practice field Wednesday, according to Vikings Now.

Our View:With Hicks taking part in full practice the signs point to him making his 2008 season debut this week. With two running backs ahead of him on the depth chart Hicks will not see many carries and won't have any fantasy value.
September 5, 2008
Maurice Hicks missed Thursday's practice due to his sprained foot, according to the Star Tribune. He may not be ready to play in the opener Monday.

Our View:Hicks wouldn't see many carries as the No. 3 running back in Week 1 against the Packers, but will still be missed if he cannot play, as he is the primary kick returner.

Maurice Hicks is safe to make the Vikings' roster, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:He has a firm grip on the No. 3 spot at running back on the depth chart behind Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. Hicks will also be the team's primary kick returner, which gives him an added edge over Albert Young (likely to land on practice squad).

Maurice Hicks has agreed to a three-year contract with the Vikings, according to the AP. Mewelde Moore bolted for Pittsburgh last night, so the Vikings were looking for a No. 3 back behind Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. Hicks should continue to have no fantasy value, barring injuries to Peterson and Taylor, but he should become the Vikes' primary returner.
