January 3, 2009 Cedric Benson and the Cincinnati Bengals are both interested in coming to agreement on a long-term deal, according to Our View:Benson ran for his typical sub-4.0 yards per carry, but performed well down the stretch, and had three games where he ran for 100+ yards. |

December 29, 2008 Cedric Benson is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent after the season but noted that he prefers to remain with the Bengals, according to the Our View:He finished the season strong while rushing for 355 yards over the final three games. It is understandable why he would want to return to Cincinnati, especially since they gave him another chance after the Bears released him due to off-the-field issues. |

December 28, 2008 Running back Cedric Benson rushed 25 times for 111 yards and a touchdown in the Week 17 win over the Chiefs. He also caught two passes for 19 yards. Our View:Benson posted 462 total yards over the final three games. He has built a solid case for the Bengals to re-sign him this offseason. We still don't have much faith in the former first-round pick, but he has certainly run hard this December. |

December 28, 2008 Running back Cedric Benson (ankle) is active for the Week 17 game against the Chiefs. Our View:He will likely see a heavy workload, as the Bengals are without T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson. It's tough to admit, but Benson is a decent fantasy play. |
