Aaron Rodgers did an interview with MSNBC.com and said he would welcome Brett Favre back, and was not concerned with things outside of his control.

Our View:The Favre drama is dominating websites, blogs and major media football news. Until training camp begins expect it to be the only worthwhile NFL topic.

Packers' GM Ted Thompson stated that Aaron Rodgers is the Packers' starting quarterback, and Brett Favre will have to hold the clipboard if he is on the team this season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Thompson added, "We have to go with what's real. We don't know what the options are right now. We'll talk about it internally. It's all guess work. This is a very difficult spot we're in. It's a very volatile situation and we don't have all the answers yet. We have moved forward with Rodgers. So we'll see where it goes."

Our View:The Packers previously stated Favre will not be released, but they would consider a trade. As of now, Rodgers is slated to start the season opener against the Vikings.

Aaron Rodgers is not distracted by the news swirling that Brett Favre wants to return to the NFL, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. He has not talked to Favre and said, "I’ve been up in the mountains hanging out with my family, so I’ve been pretty immune to any media reports out there. So, that’s basically what I’m doing."

Our View:In other words, Rodgers is preparing himself to be the Packers' starting quarterback this season and isn't changing anything in that regard.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has set himself aside as the team leader this offseason, and he has displayed a strong throwing arm in practices, according to ESPN. "He has a cannon," wide receiver Greg Jennings said. "We call him the Human Jugs Machine."

Our View:Aside from the strong arm, it will be interesting to watch how Rodgers evolves as a leader of the team, while trying to fill Brett Favre’s enormous shoes. We currently have Rodgers ranked as a mid-level backup in our early fantasy rankings. But we will be tracking his progress throughout training camp and the preseason games, so that ranking could be fluid in nature.

Aaron Rodgers said he is ready for the spotlight following the retirement of future Hall of Famer Brett Favre, according to the AP. He commented, "I know the pressure I’m under. I know who I’m following. I know that it’s a tough situation and a lot of people are expecting me to fail outside of this locker room. I’m just trying to get the guys we’ve got here now to believe in me. I know the comparisons, probably my entire career, as long as I’m a Packer and as long as I play in the NFL, my connection will be the guy who followed Brett Favre. I think that’s probably one of the most underestimated parts of my game is that I have spent the last three offseasons exclusively here and I’ve put in a lot of time and a lot of hard work into figuring out this offense. I think I’ll be ready to go once we can finally lace them up for real. I think I’ve always been a guy who wants to be involved not only in working together but be involved in the lives of these guys. I want us to be a connected team, on and off the field."

Our View:Packers' coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers keeps doing everything right, and added that Rodgers will be the starter despite drafting Brian Brohm in the second round.
