Jason Campbell (kneecap) won't play over the final two weeks, though it's possible that he could return in the playoffs if the Redskins are able to qualify. In the meantime, journeyman Todd Collins will continue to start for Washington.

The MRI on Jason Campbell’s dislocated kneecap showed that his injury would probably not require surgery, and the Redskins are not ruling out a return for their signal caller this season. The normal recovery time for this kind of injury is about four weeks, which would put his return at the very end of the year.

Jason Campbell very likely will be lost for the seaosn after dislocating his left patella Thursday, according to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com. Todd Collins relieved Campbell against Chicago and played very well in relief.

Jason Campbell was carted off the field Thursday after suffering a left knee injury in the second quarter. Earlier in the night he missed a few snaps with a sore elbow. We'll see what the club says after the game; Todd Collins replaced him at quarterback.

Jason Campbell will start Thursday's preseason finale against the Jaguars. He was questionable due to a bruised left knee that sidelined him last week. Campbell is wearing a brace and practiced on Tuesday. "They don't want to do too much with it, and they don't want the swelling to come back and have a setback," he tells the Washington Post. "So I'll just take my time on it, and work my way back in slowly."

"If he tells me he's having trouble planting or throwing (on Tuesday), then he's not playing," Gibbs tells the Washington Post. "He's going to have to tell me if he's 100 percent or not." Campbell bruised his left knee on August 18 and has been out since that time.

The Redskins are holding out a little hope that Jason Campbell can start on Saturday against the Ravens. He bruised his left knee on Saturday and participated in a walk-through on Tuesday. "If I had to play today, I probably couldn't," Campbell tells the team's official web site. "It's hurting my movement right now, but it's only been two-and-a-half days since the injury occurred. I feel like I'm doing well to be moving at the level I am right now."

Jason Campbell is considered day-to-day after suffering a sprained knee on Saturday night that didn’t result in any kind of ligament damage, according to ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli. Campbell may be back at practice this week but it is unlikely he sees any action in the Redskins’ next preseason game.

Jason Campbell left Saturday's preseason game in the first quarter after bruising his left knee, the AP reports. Campbell walked to the locker room but returned to the sidelines later in the first half with his knee heavily wrapped. The third-year quarterback was sharp before leaving the game, completing 6-of-8 passes for 75 yards.

Jason Campbell has impressed coaches and teammates with the progress he made this offseason. "From last year's OTAs to this year, it's night and day with Jason," center Casey Rabach told the Washington Times. Wide receiver Santana Moss added, "We're light years ahead of where we were last year with Jason." Campbell will go to Miami to work out with Moss and Antwaan Randle-El after next month's minicamp.
