Buccaneers inactives: QB Josh Johnson (3rd), QB Brian Griese, WR Dexter Jackson, SS Jermaine Phillips, RB Noah Herron, T James Lee, TE Alex Smith, DT Gerg Peterson.

Our View:Cadillac Williams (hamstring) is active, but Warrick Dunn is the starter and the much better play this week. Alex Smith (ankle) is inactive, which makes Jerramy Stevens a sneaky play against the Lions' toothless defense.

Tight end Alex Smith did not accompany the Bucs to Detroit for Sunday’s game against the Lions, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Smith will be inactive for the second consecutive week after hurting his ankle in Kansas City while catching a 2-point conversion pass that sent the game into overtime.

Our View:Tight end Jerramy Stevens will takeover full time and could be a decent option against the Lions. Smith had three touchdowns through nine games.

November 12, 2008
Tight end Alex Smith was held out of practice on Wednesday because of an ankle injury he sustained against the Chiefs two weeks ago, according to the Pewterreport.com.
