Reggie Bush tied an NFL record, set 11 times previously, with two punt returns for touchdowns - one covering 71 yards, the other 64 yards - in the Saints 30-27 loss to the Vikings. Bush also carried the ball 12 times for just 29 yards while losing a fumble though he did haul in seven passes for 64 yards though he also lost a fumble in the passing game as well.

Our View:Typical Bush. The guy was all over the field doing pretty much everything other than kicking field goals. One of the fumbles came after a face mask that wasn't called but he still rushed for a paltry 29 yards. None of that matters if you are in a PPR league as he continues to rack up receptions as if he was Marques Colston. The guy may have his faults, but he can be breathtaking to watch in full flight.

Reggie Bush, who has already accumulated 26 receptions this season, will likely be a top target of Drew Brees again this Sunday against the 49ers with Jeremy Shockey, Marques Colston and David Patten all out with injuries.

Our View:Clearly Bush is a must play this week. His three touchdowns in the first three weeks point towards him beginning to live up to the high expectations that were placed out of him when coming out of USC.
September 21, 2008
Reggie Bush accumulated 31 touches on Sunday in the Saints 32-34 loss in Denver. He rushed the ball 18 times for 78 yards and a TD, caught 11 passes, also with a TD, and returned two punts for 30 yards.

Our View:This is the type of production the Saints expect of the former No. 2 overall draft pick. He did lose a fumble amidst all the action, but owners should consider his Sunday quite a success. His value in PPR leagues continues to climb into the upper echelon.
September 14, 2008
Reggie Bush ran for just 28 yards on 10 carries Sunday but added seven receptions for 63 yards.

Our View:Bush continues to be an asset in PPR leagues, but that's about it. They should just move him to receiver already and be done with it.
September 7, 2008
Running back Reggie Bush posted eight receptions for 112 yards and one touchdown through the air, and added 14 carries for 51 yards on the ground in the season opener.

Our View:Bush compiled 22 touches for 163 yards and a score, and is off to a great start in 2008. With McAllister obviously not at 100 percent, it appears the Saints are ready to increase Bush's workload this season.

Saints running back Reggie Bush does not seem to have improved much after his disappointing 2007 campaign, according to Pro Football Weekly. His timing in recognizing and hitting holes remains poor, and he still tries to make too much happen instead of taking what is there.

Our View:Bush has been a major disappointment for the Saints and fantasy owners not in PPR leagues. He is averaging under four yards per carry for his career, and just hasn't been able to do what was expected of him. Meanwhile, Mario Williams - the player everyone ripped the Texans for taking ahead of Bush - seems to be headed towards becoming a great defensive end in the league.
August 24, 2008
Reggie Bush had to leave Saturday's game in the first half with what coach Sean Payton called a "Charley Horse", according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush should be fine, but we'll let you know if the ailment is worse than originally thought.

In his quest to prove that he will not be a bust, the Saints game against the Texans loomed large for Reggie Bush because he would be taking the field against the player he will always be compared to - Texans DE Mario Williams. Alas, that will not happen, because Bush will not play in the game due to swelling in his left knee, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush tore his posterior cruciate ligament in the same knee last year, but the injury is not thought to be serious, and sitting out is simply a precaution.
August 7, 2008
Reggie Bush has not rushed for over four yards per carry in either of his two seasons, and he began the preseason rushing seven times for 22 yards, a 3.1 average. Half of his yards came on one carry.

Our View:Bush is always a solid option in PPR leagues, but in standard leagues, owners should get used to the notion that he's nothing more than a complementary player.
July 29, 2008
Since the initial punt return practice, Reggie Bush has been first in line at every return practice and he's dropped none. Clearly he wants that job, and it appears he might get it, at least part-time, according to the The Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush only returned three punts last season as opposed to 28 in his rookie season. The more touches he gets, the better his value coming into the season. We'll keep an eye on the position battle.

Reggie Bush expects big things from himself this season according to the AP. "I definitely feel like I have something to prove this year, more so than the maybe the past two years, just because I didn’t have a great season last year," Bush said after a recent practice at Saints training camp. "My first season was OK, but I’m ready to prove I’m one of those elite running backs year in and year out."

Our View:We would like to think Bush has the ability to nearly double his 900+ total yards from last season, but we certainly have our doubts. It would seem football might be a bit hard to focus on when your girlfriend is constantly tailed by cameras and trying to climb a notch above tramp status on a senseless reality show. However, we cannot forget Bush's incredible USC history and hope he brings that ability to the NFL this season.

Running back Reggie Bush could return punts on a more regular basis in 2008, the Baton Rouge Advocate reports. He fielded only three punts in 2007 after returning the ball 28 times as a rookie.

Our View:If your league awards points for return touchdowns, Bush might be able to add one or two to his total. The Saints could scrap this idea if Deuce McAllister isn't able to recover from his knee injury, though.

After months of legal wrangling, running back Reggie Bush finally will have to testify under oath about allegations that he received $291,000 in illegal cash and benefits from San Diego businessman and fledgling sports marketer Lloyd Lake, according to USA Today. Superior Court Judge Joan Lewis has ordered Bush to give his deposition June 23, LaMar Griffin on June 27 and Denise Griffin on June 30. Lewis denied Bush's request to have armed security at the depositions. Furthermore, Lewis denied Bush's request for his deposition to remain confidential, which means it could be released to the NCAA and the news media. If Bush admits wrongdoing while he was a student-athlete, it could have major repercussions for USC's football program. "We're very pleased the judge put a stop to Bush's ducking and dodging," said Brian Watkins, Lake's lawyer. Lake's deposition is scheduled for June 5 and 6.

Our View:Lake is suing Bush and his parents for reimbursement of the $291,000 he says he gave to Bush, stepfather LaMar Griffin and mother Denise Griffin while Bush was a student-athlete at Southern California. He has already spent several hours telling his side of the story to NCAA investigators.

Reggie Bush is impressed by fellow New Orleans star Chris Paul, and he is itching to have an MVP-type season of his own. "I've got to come out and have an equal or better year," Bush tells the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "I've had plenty of time to reflect (on 2007). I missed the last four games. That really hurt me because I never really had to miss any games before. I had a lot of time to think and just go through what approach I want to take this year and how I want to go about this year and getting to that elite level of athletes."
March 17, 2008
Reggie Bush is expected to take part in off-season workouts, according to the New Orleans Times Picayune. Coach Payton stated that Bush will be a regular this off-season and added, "He's planning on being involved in all of our offseason which is encouraging and good. It's important for him, especially with running backs and the pounding they take to be real diligent in the weight room."

Reggie Bush was scheduled to testify in San Diego in a civil lawsuit brought against him by New Era Sports financier Lloyd Lake, according to Yahoo! sports. Bush, who allegedly owes Lake nearly $300,000, doesn't want his deposition to be made available to the media and the NCAA. “It’s so that we can’t share the transcripts with the NCAA, which is a huge admission of guilt,” said Lake’s attorney, Brian Watkins. “Reggie Bush has repeatedly said that he has nothing to hide, and now that he has to testify under oath, he’s saying he doesn’t want what he says shared with the NCAA. Now all of the sudden it’s ‘Hey I’m going to have to admit to some things and I don’t want them out there." Lake contends that Bush and his family owes him $291,000 as a part of a plan to hatch a sports agency around the star running back. If Bush is found guilty, he could be stripped of his Heisman Trophy and USC's 2004 National Championship would come under heavy scrutiny.
