The Denver Post is reporting that Broncos' tight end Tony Scheffler was walking around in flip-flops Thursday during an promotional appearance and said his foot was nearly healed. "It feels pretty good," Scheffler said. "It's back to normal, and I am doing everything with the rest of the team, looking forward to getting this behind me."

Our View:It was a good sign for the Broncos tight end, who was wearing a protective boot last month. Scheffler, who reinjured his left foot May 19, said he is fully recovered and is ready to hit the field for training camp on July 25.

Denver tight end Tony Scheffler was back at practice today and is taking part in more drills than anticipated, according to DenverBroncos.com.

Our View:Scheffler is battling pain in his left foot doctors suggest will not subside for at least two years, as long as he keeps playing. Today was his second day at practice and he was running routes and making catches like nothing was wrong.

Tony Scheffler practiced on a limited basis on Tuesday. He also did conditioning work after the session, the Rocky Mountain News reports. The tight end felt a pop in his left foot last month, almost one year to the day after breaking his fifth metatarsal. He did not break any bones this time.

Our View:Scheffler has the talent and system to be a quality fantasy tight end, but this nagging left foot injury is troublesome. We'll keep him out of starter fantasy range until he shows up in training camp and proves the foot won't hold him back.

Tony Scheffler admitted to the Denver Post that his injured foot may not be pain-free for another two years. The tight end broke his left foot while running a pass pattern last May, and last month he felt a pop in the same left foot, in the same fifth metatarsal. "It had been feeling great," Scheffler said. "I thought I was completely past it. That's the frustrating part about it. I felt like I had finally found my place in this organization. Felt like I could contribute a lot. It finally felt right for the first time after last year. And then to fall back, it's hard. But that's what makes athletes better."

Our View:Scheffler ran some sprints following Friday's practice, and he could return for the team's next practice on Tuesday. The third-year tight end has the skills to break out this year, but the foot ailment could potentially hold him back.

Tony Scheffler was back at mini-camp on Thursday, this according to the Denver Post. It was his first appearance since reinjuring a bone in his left foot on May 19. "I don't know if it was scar tissue or what, but I heard a pop," Scheffler said. "We've just been a little cautious with it, and it feels good now."

Our View:Scheffler said he will participate in the second half of this minicamp next week and expects to be fully recovered by the time training camp starts in late July.
