The Cincinnati Bengals signed linebacker Abdul Hodge off of their practice squad and onto their active roster, according to Scout.com.

Our View:Hodge will be the backup at middle linebacker, and should see time on special teams. He is a former third-round selection of the Green Bay Packers.

Linebacker Abdul Hodge was signed to the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad on Tuesday, according to Bengals.com.

Our View:Hodge was a third-round selection of the Packers in 2006, but injured his knee last season and missed the entire year.

Abdul Hodge, who was recently cut by Green Bay, got a workout with the Raiders following Thursday's practice, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:The Raiders could use depth at linebacker but he isn't going to push Kirk Morrison or Thomas Howard for a starting job, and lacks the size to hold up on the strong side.
September 1, 2008
Abdul Hodge has been released by the Packers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Hodge enjoyed a solid career at the University of Iowa, but injuries spoiled his potential to make an impact in the NFL. The Packers are also deep at linebacker, which led to his release.
June 23, 2008
Abdul Hodge is running well after undergoing surgery on both patellar tendons, but is believed to be the underdog to beat out Desmond Bishop for the backup job at middle linebacker behind starter Nick Barnett, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Our View:Bishop holds an edge in pass coverage, as well as on special teams. The Packers are relatively deep at linebacker, so Hodge could be in jeopardy of not making the team.
