Coach Eric Mangini is targeting Jets' assistants to potentially join him if he lands in Cleveland, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Mangini is targeting current Jets' quarterbacks coach Brian Daboll and current Jets' receivers coach Noel Mazzone for key offensive spots with the Browns. He would also like to add current Jets' offensive coordinator Bill Callahan.

Our View:Mangini remains the leading candidate for the head coaching vacancy with the Browns, and could get the club back on the right track as they won 10 games in 2007.

Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz could become the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns should New England's Scott Pioli get hired as well, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Ferentz is apparently Pioli's first option for a coach, and Browns owner Randy Lerner so badly wants to hire Pioli, he'd include Ferentz in a package deal.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Browns owner Randy Lerner is expected to meet face-to-face with former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher this week.

Our View:Cowher is said to not be interested in returning to coaching in 2009, but it remains to be seen whether he will change his mind if the money is right.
