The Giants have added Martrez Milner to the practice squad, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Milner was the Falcons' fourth-round pick in 2007, but did not fit in due to a lack of solid blocking skills. He is a good receiver and will be better-suited for the Giants' system.

The Falcons waived Martrez Milner Tuesday, according to Access North Georgia.

Our View:This comes as a surprise, as Milner was a pretty good receiving tight end on a team that lacked any real threat at the position. He will find work somewhere, or perhaps the Falcons will sign him to their practice squad.

Martrez Milner is nursing toe, ankle and knee injuries and there is no timetable for his return, according to the Gainesville Times. "He's got a toe and a knee and an ankle (injury), all on the same leg," coach Mike Smith said. "I'm encouraged by him being out of the boot so early, but it's going it’s going to take some time, and it's a matter of when he can really put some weight on that (leg)."

Our View:Milner has been used as a motion-oriented H-back and is easily the most athletically gifted tight end of the Falcons roster. Ben Hartsock is likely to start, but he's viewed primarily as a blocker.
