Oakland's Johnnie Lee Higgins was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for the AFC after scoring an 89-yard punt return, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Higgins isn't usable as a receiver for fantasy owners, as he has just eight catches for 170 yards and one score, but he's clearly a top special teams performer.

Wide receiver Johnnie Lee Higgins looked like the Raiders most dynamic player in Week 3. His only reception went 84 yards for a touchdown, and Higgins opened the game with a 69-yard kickoff return.

Our View:Higgins has done a very good job on kickoff returns this year, and the Raiders may need to think about getting him more involved in the passing attack. Fantasy owners shouldn't look to add Higgins unless he becomes a bigger factor on offense.

Johnnie Lee Higgins will field punt returns in tonight's game against the 49ers, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:He has the speed and athleticism to be dangerous in the open field, and could excel as a return man. He is also competing for the slot role at receiver.

Second-year receiver Johnnie Lee Higgins is having an active week, as he caught another half-dozen passes in practice on Tuesday, according to InsideBayArea.com.

Our View:Higgins failed to make an impact as a third-round draft pick in 2007, but he is explosive with great speed and quickness. He is dangerous as a vertical threat on the outside, but will also go over the middle to make plays as well. The number three receiver role in Oakland is up for grabs, and he could be well-suited for the job, if he continues to make strides through training camp. He had the skills to be a first-round pick, but his 6-0 185 pound frame dropped him to the third.
