Ryan Grant won't sign the minimum tender of $370,000 for a second-year player and won't report to training camp until he has a long-term contract, his agent, Alan Herman, told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Herman said he and the Packers have had substantive talks this offseason but haven't talked for about three weeks.

Our View:With the team preoccupied with that Favre guy, Grant has been put on the back burner. We expect the two sides to get a deal done and Grant to report to camp on time.

Ryan Grant is expected to reach an agreement on a multi-year contract, this according to the Pierce County Herald. The Packers want to get the deal done before training camp begins.

Our View:It difficult to project what Grant can get in a multi-year deal, until he was traded from New York during training camp last year he had no leverage to demand any such contract.

Bob Glauber of Newsday reports that the contract talks between running back Ryan Grant and the Green Bay Packers are amicable, and a long-term deal could be reached within the next two weeks.

Our View:Grant has attended team meetings and participated in the offseason-conditioning program, but he refuses to practice until a new deal is in place. Per Glauber, the Packers consider Grant their running back of the future, and hope to lock him down for five or six seasons.

As anticipated by all, Green Bay rusher Ryan Grant failed to show for the Packers' mandatory minicamp practice today as he and his agent continue to work with the team to reach a new contractual agreement, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Grant was traded to Green Bay just before the start of the regular season last year and went on to serve as an offensive catalyst. He has attended team meetings and has taken part in the offseason workout program, but he simply chooses not to participate in practices. Grant was in uniform Tuesday morning, hitting a blocking sled at the other end of the Packers' indoor practice facility while his teammates ran plays.

Ryan Grant still hasn't given any indication that he will attend the Packers training camp, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Listen to the words of HC Mike McCarthy. "I don't anticipate it's going to change. I don't know what the timeframe is, but there's been nothing said to me that would indicate for his situation to change."

Our View:Grant wont accept the second year tender currently on the table, not after rushing for 956 yards and eight scores last season. He certainly deserves to be paid more, and it appears that he is serious about holding out until he gets it.
