Mike Jenkins is slated for an MRI on his injured hamstring, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:The rookie has done a solid job at cornerback while filling in for the injured Terrence Newman, and would be a tough loss for the Cowboys if unable to go against the Seahawks Thursday, who gave the Redskins' solid secondary a tough battle yesterday.

Our View:The Cowboys can ill-afford to lose another defensive back, as they are already without Terence Newman and Roy Williams. Let's hope the rookie is okay.

Mike Jenkins will fill in for the injured Terence Newman at left cornerback in Saturday's preseason game against San Diego, according to the Dallas Morning News. Jenkins said, "I probably will be hyped up, but my main focus is to stay calm and work in the system."

Our View:Jenkins is talented enough to start right away in the NFL, but the Cowboys are deep at the position (if Pacman Jones gets reinstated), and Jenkins should be limited to a nickel or dime role as a rookie.

Our View:Jenkins will likely be the nickel or dime back on the squad, as Dallas has a number of talented corners, including the yet to be reinstated Adam "Dont Call Me Pacman" Jones.
