It appears that Drew Bledsoe will be a backup when Sunday's game gets underway. The Star-Telegram cites a source that said Tony Romo will get the nod as the starter this weekend over Bledsoe. Unless Romo implodes, Bledsoe probably is done starting games for the Cowboys.

Drew Bledsoe was benched at the half of Monday's loss to the Giants. Bledsoe threw for 111 yards and had a touchdown run in his half of play, but he also threw an interception at the goal line and was sacked four times, once for a safety. Tony Romo threw for 227 yards and two scores in the second half, though he was also intercepted three times. Bill Parcells refused to name a Week 8 starter after the game, as you'd expect; the Cowboys travel to Carolina next week.

Drew Bledsoe led the Cowboys to a win on Sunday night, which should at least temporarily halt any suggestions that he could lose his job to Tony Romo. Bledsoe completed just 19-of-38 passes but threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns and didn't turn the ball over.

Drew Bledsoe struggled in the season opener for the Cowboys. Bledsoe completed just 16-of-33 passes for 246 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Bledsoe will have to play better to keep his job over Tony Romo all season.

Drew Bledsoe said via text message on Friday that he'll be ready for the season opener, according to the Star-Telegram. "Feeling OK. Sore neck. Nothing serious. Ready to go," Bledsoe said. Bledsoe was knocked out of the preseason finale with a head injury.

Drew Bledsoe was knocked out of last night's preseason game after taking a hit to the head, according to the Star-Telegram. The Cowboys apparently removed him for precautionary reasons. "It's too early too tell [if it's a concussion]," Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said. "I don't think it's anything serious that it would keep him from playing [in the season opener]."

Owner Jerry Jones said that Drew Bledsoe isn't and never was in danger of losing his starting quarterback job to Tony Romo, according to the Forth Worth Star-Telegram. Bledsoe completed 12 of 16 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's preseason win over the Saints. "Are you ready to anoint a new king or do you want to stay with the old one?" a smiling Jones said. "He showed the benefits of having a veteran quarterback. When Drew can throw the ball, he is like a surgeon."
