Terry Glenn spoke with reporters today and acknowledges his agent has had talks with the Miami Dolphins, but they are not the only team that has come knocking, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Glenn said his agent has talked to several teams, but he failed to mention who those teams might be. Meanwhile, Miami coach Tony Sparano told Miami media that the team is doing their "due diligence" on Glenn, meaning they want to make sure he can play with his surgically-repaired knee.
July 29, 2008
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins in the next few days, according to two sources for the Dallas Star Telegram.

Our View:In Miami, the veteran receiver will be reunited with Bill Parcells and several other former Dallas coaches and players. Parcells, the Dolphins executive vice president for football operations, coached Glenn in New England and in Dallas.
July 29, 2008
Coach Jack Del Rio didn't rule out the possibility of adding Terry Glenn to their injury-riddled receiving corps, according to the Florida Times-Union. "I'm not ruling anything out for the future. ... If there is somebody out there that we think can help us be a stronger football team, we're interested, regardless of position," Del Rio said.

Our View:This makes sense for the Jags, assuming it doesn't cost them an arm and a leg. Glenn, who was recently released by the Cowboys, has a bum knee, but he would arguably be the team's most talented receiver if he could manage to take the field more often than not.
July 27, 2008
Terry Glenn may reunite with Bill Parcells in Miami following his release from the Dallas Cowboys. His knee is questionable, but expect him to turn up somewhere soon.

Our View:The Dolphins certainly need some help at the position and Glenn had back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons in 2005 and 2006. Furthermore, it seems like Glenn is more eager to get paid then compete for a Super Bowl at this point.
July 26, 2008
Updating a story of interest for Dallas fans and fantasy owners alike, veteran receiver Terry Glenn has been released by the Cowboys, yet the door remains open for a possible return, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:The Cowboys will release Glenn, but should his conditioning improve, the team would like to revisit the possibility of bringing him back in the fold at some point. Of course, Glenn would also have the chance to sign with another team. The Cowboys not only had concern about Glenn's knee and the financial commitment, but they also wondered if he would stop the progress of their younger receivers like Sam Hurd, Miles Austin and Isaiah Stanback. The Cowboys asked Glenn to agree to a split-salary agreement in case he reinjured his right knee during the season, but the veteran was unwilling to take a pay cut. He was scheduled to make $1.74 million this season.
July 25, 2008
Terry Glenn was released by the Dallas Cowboys today, but it is still possible he could re-sign with the team, according to DallasCowboys.com.

Our View:Glenn has had knee problems and the team wanted protection should his problems in that area remain. He did not initially want to sign a contract that would have given him $500,000 instead of his full salary if he re-injured the knee, leading to his release.
July 25, 2008
The Dallas Morning News indicates that a decision regarding Terry Glenn's future with the Cowboys is expected to be made today.

Our View:He did not join the team for the start of training camp, but is being counted on the roster. Glenn has refused to agree to a split salary that would give him $500,000 in the event that he re-injures his right knee and costs him the rest of the season. The Cowboys have told Glenn he will be released if he doesn't sign the deal.
July 24, 2008
Wide receiver Terry Glenn was not on the Cowboys' team flight to training camp according to the Dallas Morning News. He has been at odds with the team because they want him to sign a $500,000 wavier in case he reinjures his right knee. Glenn is refusing to do so.

Our View:It has been a disgruntled offseason for the aging receiver. He had no catches in the regular season last year and he may be on his way to repeating that performance if he doesn't get into camp.
July 22, 2008
The Dallas Morning News reports that Jerry Jones said there's no resolution in the talks with Terry Glenn about a split salary agreement.

Our View:Jones said he expects to have something worked out by the time training camp starts on Thursday. Call us skeptical, but we don't see this getting resolved anytime soon.
July 10, 2008
It would make sense to trade Chris Simms to the Cowboys for Terry Glenn, according to the Tampa Tribune. The Buccaneers have expressed an interest in adding another veteran receiver.

Our View:Glenn hasn't caught a pass since 2006, and the Bucs have a plethora of wide outs, including Michael Clayton, Ike Hilliard, Antonio Bryant and rookie Dexter Jackson, making his fantasy value suspect.
June 28, 2008
While reports and rumors swirl that the Cowboys are taking a strong look at veteran receiver Joe Horn, the beat reporters in town believe Terry Glenn may be back in the fold and close to a new deal, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Glenn is speaking with Dallas Cowboys officials again in hopes of returning. Glenn, who wasn't allowed to practice with the team because he wouldn't sign an injury waiver, asked the team to release him. But he has changed his mind, saying he doesn't want to get into a confrontation with owner Jerry Jones. We will see how Jones handles this one, but we know the question to answer is cost. Glenn may talk nice, but the bottom line is money. If he brings his asking price down to the league minimum Jones desires, this could get done.
June 19, 2008
Newsday reporter Bob Glauber speculated on ESPN’s First Take show, that Bill Parcells could be interested in Dallas receiver Terry Glenn, if he were to be released by the Cowboys.

Our View:Parcells has a history with Glenn, who would be utilized to mentor the Dolphins’ young wide receiver corps. This report is pure speculation at this juncture, but it makes sense if Glenn is ultimately released by Dallas.
June 18, 2008
Terry Glenn talked with ESPN.com again, and he expressed a desire to work out his issues with owner Jerry Jones. "I want Jerry to understand that I know he has the ultimate power in everything that goes on with the Cowboys, and I'm not trying to challenge him in any way, shape or form," Glenn says. "But what I want is to remain a Cowboy. I've been here for five years and I've made Dallas my home, and I would love nothing more than to be a Dallas Cowboy... I'm not trying to be at odds with Jerry. These words and comments coming from me were strictly frustration." The receiver has been reluctant to sign an injury waiver. Ed Werder's report also notes that the amount of the waiver has been fluctuating.

Our View:Glenn is simply saying that, in a perfect world, Jones wouldn't ask him to sign the waiver and he could stay in Dallas. His words don't change the fact that the waiver regarding his right knee remains on the table.
June 17, 2008
Terry Glenn told ESPN's Ed Werder that he wants to be released if owner Jerry Jones continues to bar him from preparing for the season by attempting to force him to sign an injury waiver. "I'm not signing any waiver," said Glenn, who said he wants to move on with his career if the Cowboys no longer want him.

Our View:Glenn has seen his own personal doctor in Columbus, Ohio, who performed his right knee surgery last year. Both believe the health of his knee is not an issue. Jones is demanding that Glenn agree to reduce his base salary from $1.7 million to $500,000, as protection in case he re-injures his right knee.
June 17, 2008
Terry Glenn is not attending the Cowboys' mandatory minicamp today, according to ESPN.com. Glenn did not undergo a physical Monday at Valley Ranch as he and the Cowboys continue to fight over an injury settlement. Owner Jerry Jones wants Glenn to agree to accept a $500,000 injury settlement if he cannot play this season. Glenn's base salary is $1.74 million.

Our View:If Glenn is able to play this season, he wants to do so under the current terms of his contract. He's been barred from practicing with the Cowboys until he signs the waiver.
June 3, 2008
Terry Glenn and his balky right knee have yet to pass a physical, according to the Star-Telegram. Jerry Jones said Tuesday the Cowboys will wait as long as possible for the wide receiver to sign a $500,000 injury settlement, but it is something that needs to be done if Glenn is going to play in 2008. The Cowboys believe Glenn needs season-ending, and possibly career-ending, microfracture surgery to fully repair his knee, but they're supportive if Glenn wants to try to play through the injury without undergoing an operation.

Our View:Jones is optimistic that they will get Glenn to sign the waiver, but we're not very optimistic that Glenn will make a fantasy contribution this year. Patrick Crayton would receive a boost in fantasy value if Glenn isn't able to stay healthy and on the field.
June 2, 2008
Sign or get out. The Cowboys have told Terry Glenn that he must sign the $500,000 injury waiver or pack his bags, a source informs the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Glenn is due $1.74 million in 2008, but he missed nearly all of 2007 following two right knee surgeries.

Our View:The paper didn't assign a timetable for Glenn to sign the waiver, but we'd be surprised if this situation lasted into the start of training camp.
May 29, 2008
Last week, wide receiver Terry Glenn revealed that the Dallas Cowboys were keeping him out of the team's off-season workouts. Per Glenn, the team has asked him to sign a $500,000 injury settlement - relieving them of any further obligation if he is sidelined for the season due to his surgically repaired right knee, according to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View:So far, Glenn has declined to sign the waiver and has not been allowed to participate in the "organized team activity" workouts the past two weeks. If Glenn were injured without the waiver, the team would be on the hook for his entire 2008 salary of $1.74 million.
May 28, 2008
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones explained to the Dallas Morning News the absence of Terry Glenn from OTAs this week. "I'm very encouraged, he's improved from where he was in the last ballgame," Jones said. "He's made a lot of progress. And I do think if he keeps making the progress -- he's very strong, very quick and we want to get his timing down with Tony -- but as far as the work out here, he doesn't necessarily need the work."

Our View:Glenn is coming back from a pair of knee surgeries, and recent reports on him have been very positive, so you shouldn't get too worked up over him not participating in OTAs.
May 27, 2008
The Dallas Cowboys continue their organized team activities today at Valley Ranch, but wide receiver Terry Glenn said he probably wouldn’t work out this week, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Glenn had two surgeries on the knee last year, one to remove a cyst and another to repair loose cartilage. He was told by team officials he will need micro-fracture surgery in the future. Glenn was also held out of three OTA sessions last week because of concerns about his right knee.
May 21, 2008
Owner Jerry Jones told the Dallas Morning News that Terry Glenn is ready to go, but the Cowboys are holding the veteran out of OTAs as a precaution. Glenn is coming back from a pair of knee surgeries that kept him out of basically all of the 2007 season. "I assume, and I think he does too, that he'll be fine come training camp," Tony Romo said of Glenn. "I think he'll surprise you with just his level of play."

Our View:Glenn's situation is definitely worth following closely, not only because he can be a factor in fantasy if his knees hold up, but also because his status directly affects Patrick Crayton's value.
April 30, 2008
Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones stated that vet Terry Glenn has a 50-50 shot to start in 2008, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Glenn can still be productive if his surgically repaired knee allows, but Patrick Crayton (50-697-7) had a solid campaign in 2007 and would be the early favorite to start opposite Terrell Owens this season. The team could still trade for a receiver as well.
April 23, 2008
Terry Glenn still appears to be in the plans of the Cowboys as they try to find a compliment to Terrell Owens if you ask owner Jerry Jones, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I am thinking positive about Terry Glenn. I don't have any idea how he is going to continue to go, but he is going to be very much a part of our plans," Jones said.

Our View:Glenn was a non-entity last season because of his knee, and the hope is that injury and the subsequent surgeries haven't diminished the speed that he needs to contribute.
April 2, 2008
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t ruled out the return of veteran receiver Terry Glenn, but they also are looking at their options to acquire a veteran receiver via trade, according to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram. "I don't want to dismiss that we could look at a veteran situation, and we could look at a veteran situation before the draft," owner Jerry Jones said. "This is that time of year when you do get good value for players, and picks for players get good value. Players are depreciated right now right before the draft; picks are premium. You've got to have your eyes open, and that's what we're doing." Terrell Owens is getting up there in age, and the players behind him on the depth chart are inexperienced. Look for Dallas to continue to explore trade options including Chad Johnson, Roy Williams and Anquan Boldin.
March 1, 2008
Terry Glenn has opted against undergoing mircrofracture surgery, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I'm excited about coming back, and I'm glad the team has the confidence in me to return," Glenn said. "I think we have a great team, and I want to be a part of it. I'm very thankful to be around great ownership." He's going to need the procedure at some point but aims to play through his ailing knee next season. Considering he had two surgeries on it and took part in just eight games last season, it's hard to believe he can pull it off in 2008.
February 24, 2008
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects Terry Glenn to be a factor in 2008. Glenn missed nearly all of the 2007 season while recovering from a pair of knee surgeries. "I don't know (if he can be the same guy)," Jones told the Dallas Morning News. "All I know is he got real impressive a couple weeks before our playoff game. That still is not the complete picture of what he can and will do relative to our receivers. But he's going be a factor." If Glenn does return, he'll likely battle Patrick Crayton for a starting job opposite Terrell Owens.
January 9, 2008
According to Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, Terry Glenn is getting closer to one hundred percent, after two knee surgeries and missing 15 games this season. On Wednesday Glenn participated in his first full practice since training camp. “I’m somewhat encouraged there,” said Phillips. “Whatever you get from Terry is a bonus certainly.”
