Larry Johnson, RB Sunday 10/12, 11:59 AM CT
FOX's Jay Glazer reports the Chiefs are shopping Larry Johnson at the trade deadline.

Our View: With Tony Gonzalez also rumored in trade talks, the Chiefs apparently think that they play baseball. Johnson has a hefty contract, so a trade by Tuesday seems incredibly unlikely. This is still enough reason to stash backup RB Jamaal Charles, anyway.
Tony Gonzalez, TE Sunday 10/12, 11:53 AM CT
FOX's Jay Glazer reports the Chiefs initially asked for a second and fifth-round pick for Tony Gonzalez, but it is believed that they would take less.

Our View: A Tony Gonzalez trade still seems far from certain to occur before Tuesday's deadline.
Tony Gonzalez, TE Sunday 10/12, 10:02 AM CT
Adam Schefter of NFL.com reports the Giants, Packers and Bills are potential trade partners with the Chiefs for Tony Gonzalez, but "no one has offered serious value so far."

Our View: Earlier reports from the Kansas City Star indicated that the Chiefs were looking for a third-round pick. We will continue to track the trade rumors.
Tony Gonzalez, TE Saturday 10/11, 10:54 PM CT
The Giants, Packers and Bills may have interest in acquiring tight end Tony Gonzalez, the Kansas City Star reports. The Chiefs and Giants have apparently talked but are far apart on compensation. The Giants offered a sixth-round pick, and the Chiefs asked for a third-round selection.

Our View: By comparison, the Giants received second and fifth-round picks in exchange for Jeremy Shockey. Gonzalez's production versus his age (32) will make negotiations tricky, but some team should end up offering much more than a lowly sixth-round pick.
Damion McIntosh, T Saturday 10/11, 1:02 PM CT
Chiefs right tackle Damion McIntosh could be losing his starting job to Herb Taylor once rookie Branden Albert returns from injury, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: McIntosh has not impressed the team, while Taylor has while he has filled in for the injured Albert.
Tony Gonzalez, TE Saturday 10/11, 9:03 AM CT
Long-time Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez has requested a trade out of Kansas City, and the team is reportedly trying to accommodate him, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View: Gonzalez is 32-years-old and still a productive player, but he is now in his 12th season and has only been in the playoffs on three occasions, losing every time.
Brodie Croyle, QB Friday 10/10, 6:55 PM CT
Brodie Croyle has admitted to rhythm and timing issues throughout practice this week, according to the KC Star.

Our View: While he has healed from his separated right shoulder, he still needs to shake off some rust. The team hopes he can get back on track to start in Week 7 following this week's bye.
Branden Albert, OG/OT Wednesday 10/8, 3:15 PM CT
Branden Albert, who had been dealing with an elbow injury, returned to a full practice Wednesday, according to the KC Star.

Our View: The rookie left tackle looks to be ready to play following this week's bye, which is good news for the Chiefs' offense.
Brodie Croyle, QB Monday 10/6, 6:13 PM CT
Brodie Croyle (shoulder) will start under center for the Chiefs in Week 7, according to the Kansas City Star. "If I’m healthy, I’m going to go," Croyle said today. "I just have to make sure that over the next two weeks that everything keep going the way it’s supposed to be and we don’t have any setbacks."

Our View: Croyle likely gives the team its best chance to win, though that isn't saying much given the often terrible work the club has gotten from Damon Huard and Tyler Thigpen.
Tony Gonzalez, TE Sunday 10/5, 9:37 PM CT
Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez broke the NFL record for receiving yards by a tight end in the Chiefs loss to the Panthers, according to NFL.com. The record for most receiving yards by a tight end was held by Shannon Sharpe.

Our View: Gonzalez has been one of the best tight ends in the last five years. It has been a difficult year for the future hall of famer as the Chiefs QB position has really struggled.
Derrick Johnson, LB Sunday 10/5, 3:42 PM CT
Linebacker Derrick Johnson posted nine solo tackles in the Week 5 loss to Carolina.

Our View: Johnson, who has compiled 22 solo tackles over the past four games, was the only bright spot in the Chiefs blowout loss to the Panthers.
Brodie Croyle, QB Sunday 10/5, 10:43 AM CT
Chiefs inactives: QB Ingle Martin (3rd), QB Brodie Broyle, LB Napoleon Harris, LB Donnie Edwards, G Brian De La Puente, T Branden Albert, WR Mark Bradley, DT T.J. Jackson.

Our View: Damon Huard will start for the second straight week in place of Croyle, who continues to rehab the shoulder injury.
Larry Johnson, RB Sunday 10/5, 7:22 AM CT
Pro Football Weekly reports the elbow injury to rookie left tackle Branden Albert could keep him out for several weeks, hurting the Chiefs' running game.

Our View: LJ has found his rhythm over the past two weeks due in part to improved line play. Johnson owners should certainly hope that Albert makes it back as soon as possible.
Turk McBride, DE Saturday 10/4, 4:49 PM CT
Turk McBride has been fined $5,000 for a hit on Broncos' quarterback Jay Cutler last Sunday, according to ESPN.

Our View: The infraction only makes him lighter in the pocket and will not affect his playing status for Week 5 at Carolina.
Brandon Carr, CB Friday 10/3, 3:40 PM CT
Chiefs rookie fifth-round pick, cornerback Brandon Carr, has been starting in place of the injured Patrick Surtain, and that scenario may stay unchanged even when Surtain returns, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Carr has recovered two fumbles and picked off one pass. Nothing gets the attention of teammates and coaches more than getting turnovers. He has also done well in coverage, of course, which is his main job.
Larry Johnson, RB Friday 10/3, 3:19 PM CT
Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his 192 yard, two touchdown effort against the Broncos, according to KCChiefs.com.

Our View: Johnson was a beast against the soft Broncos run defense, and though he faces a tougher match-up Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers, he should still produce for fantasy owners.
Donnie Edwards, LB Wednesday 10/1, 11:18 PM CT
Donnie Edwards has been ruled out for Week 5 due to an injured ankle, according to the Chiefs official web site.

Our View: Demorrio Edwards will once again start at outside linebacker for the injured Edwards.
Brodie Croyle, QB Wednesday 10/1, 11:12 PM CT
During the Chiefs practice on Wednesday Brodie Croyle was back put was limited, according to the Chiefs official web site.

Our View: With Croyle starting to throw and participate in some practice probably means he is getting closer to his return. He has been out since the season opener.
Branden Albert, OG/OT Wednesday 10/1, 5:15 PM CT
Branden Albert has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a dislocated elbow according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View: The rookie could be back for Week 6 but it's unknown at this point.
B.J. Sams, RB Wednesday 10/1, 1:28 PM CT
B.J. Sams has been released by the Chiefs, according to the KC Star. He was let go to make room for receiver Mark Bradley on the roster.

Our View: He held no value to the Chiefs at running back and averaged 20 yards per kick return and 8.3 yards per punt return. Dantrell Savage will take over on punts, and either Savage or rookie Jamaal Charles will field kickoffs.
Mark Bradley, WR Wednesday 10/1, 11:21 AM CT
Mark Bradley has inked a two-year deal with the Chiefs, according to the Sports Network. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Bradley did not register a catch over two games with the Bears this season prior to his release. The Chiefs could use help at the position and he will provide favorable depth, but does not merit fantasy consideration.
