Tarvaris Jackson, QB

Head coach Brad Childress hasn't made a decision regarding Tarvaris Jackson's status for Saturday's preseason game. The quarterback sprained the MCL in his right knee last Saturday. "I really have not. He certainly hasnt either," Childress tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Gus Frerotte would start if Jackson were out. The Vikings plan to play their starters into the third quarter.

Our View:Jackson is doing his best to follow in the footsteps of Steve McNair and Donovan McNabb, at least when it comes to injuries. We expect him to be fully ready for Week 1, but his low fantasy value may not have a chance to rise this preseason.

Bernard Berrian, WR

Wide receiver Bernard Berrian practiced at least partially on Tuesday despite dealing with turf toe, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Our View:Previous comments by Berrian suggest he dealt with this injury last season, and it sounds like he will continue to play through the pain. Berrian doesn't have a ton of fantasy value, but this news might drop him a few spots.

Bernard Berrian told KFAN's Dan Barreiro Monday that the toe injury that kept him out of last week's preseason game is similar to turf toe and is something he dealt with last season while with the Bears, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The receiver said he isn't sure if he'll play this Saturday in the Vikings' third preseason game and that he and the team are taking things "day-to-day." Berrian said he is receiving "a lot of treatment" for the injury and that he spent much of last season undergoing similar treatments.

Our View:You have to be at least mildly concerned that this will be a chronic problem. We'll continue to provide updates on Berrian's situation.
