Brian Young, DT Saturday 9/6, 3:11 PM CT
Brian Young remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He has been recovering from foot surgery.

Our View: Young fully participated in practice this week, but could still be limited or even inactive. The Saints already have Hollis Thomas out of action, and the interior of the defensive line could be compromised against Earnest Graham and the Buccaneers' ground attack if Young cannot play.
Adrian Arrington, WR Friday 9/5, 3:30 PM CT
Adrian Arrington was placed on the IR after struggling with turf toe. Arrington suffered the injury in the preseason and hasn't played since. The move means he won't play this season.
Deuce McAllister, RB Friday 9/5, 2:05 PM CT
Deuce McAllister (recovery from knee surgery) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Aaron Stecker is also questionable.

Our View: Reggie Bush will see an expanded role running the ball, and Pierre Thomas would likely also play a more prominent role if one or both ailing backs are unable to go on Sunday.
Will Smith, DE Thursday 9/4, 3:51 PM CT
The New Orleans Saints have only three defensive ends on the roster, including Pro Bowler Will Smith, but if one of them gets hurt, the team is in big trouble, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: The defensive ends consistent of Smith, Charles Grant and Bobby McCray. They also have one on the practice squad in Josh Savage, but any team can sign him to their active roster at any point in the season. If one defensive end gets hurt early in a game, there will be trouble. And if two go down, the problems would be even bigger.
Jeremy Shockey, TE Thursday 9/4, 2:35 PM CT
Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey was left off the team's injury report, and he should be ready to play Week 1, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: Shockey and the Saints were being cautious after he spent the offseason rehabbing his broken leg, so he did not play in either of the team's final two exhibition games. He could be a very solid addition to a fantasy team at tight end in Sean Payton's offense.
Drew Brees, QB Tuesday 9/2, 6:20 PM CT
The New Orleans Saints will be able to play their Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, as Hurricane Gustav did not damage the Superdome, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Had there been significant damage to the facility, the Saints might have had to switch the game to Tampa, much like they did a few years ago, playing a home game in New York.
Jason David, CB Monday 9/1, 8:29 AM CT
Saints cornerback Jason David was not cut by the Saints, according to ProFootballWeekly.com. The web site reports that David was listed as cut on NFL.com, but that was simply an error.

Our View: It would not have been a surprise to see David cut, as he was the poster-boy for the Saints horrendous pass defense last season.
