Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce has missed the team's last two practices, but says he will play Week 6, according to the New York Post. "I'll never miss a game unless I'm on IR. I'll do what I do every Sunday. The body does whatever the mind tells it to do. I think I'm all right in the mind category," said Pierce.

Our View:Pierce has been dealing with a quad bruise, but has an extra day of rest because the Giants don't play until Monday night against the Browns.

Antonio Pierce missed Friday's practice while nursing a thigh injury, according to the AP. He sat out Thursday as well.

Our View:He still expects to play Monday night at Cleveland. But if he is held out, Chase Blackburn would replace him at middle linebacker. Pierce is the anchor of the Giants' defense and Jamal Lewis and the Browns' ground attack would benefit by his absence.

Brandon Jacobs, RB

Cleveland Browns defensive end Corey Williams has proclaimed that the running back his team will face this week, New York's Brandon Jacobs, is someone who can be slowed if hit enough, according to the New York Times. "If we can come out and hit him in the mouth from the jump, he tends to slow down and do some tiptoeing," Williams said.

Our View:Heady talk for a member of a team that is 22nd in the NFL in rush defense. Usually, Jacobs is the one doing the hitting, so this should be an interesting matchup.
