Brian Westbrook is optimistic that he will be able to overcome ankle and rib injuries to play in Week 6, according to the Eagles Official Website. "I'm an optimistic person. I'm a guy that thinks that every injury can be overcome," Westbrook said.

Our View:We wish we could be as optimistic but two broken ribs cast a serious cloud over his potential involvement this weekend. He is right about the positive attitude, hopefully he can send some of that energy to his injured body parts.

Brian Westbrook's status for Week 6 is "very much in doubt," according to the Eagles' official website. Coach Andy Reid said, "We'll see how that works out for him over the next couple of days. Right now he's very sore."

Our View:He is listed as day-to-day. Correll Buckhalter would start in Westbrook's place in a favorable match-up against the 49ers if needed.

David Akers, K

David Akers is having issues from long-range as he has missed nine straight field goal attempts from 45 or more yards, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Coach Andy Reid still has faith in the veteran kicker, though. Reid stated, "David's going to make a lot more of those than he's going to miss. Down the stretch here, he'll be fine."

Our View:It remains to be determined why Akers is missing his longer attempts, which have all sailed to the right. He will remain the Eagles' kicker for the time being, but fantasy owners should have a solid backup for insurance.
