Orlando Pace, TFriday 11/21, 2:38 PM CT
The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Rams' coach Jim Haslett is optimistic that left tackle Orlando Pace will be back playing sooner than later. Pace was estimated to miss two to four weeks with a knee injury. "I think Orlando will be ready to play in a week or two," Haslett said. "He might be ready next week. He was out there jogging today. I thought he did a pretty good job and he's going to get a brace and put that on."

Our View:Until he returns, we can probably expect more of the same from St. Louis' lame-duck offense.
Steven Jackson, RBFriday 11/21, 2:36 PM CT
The News Democrat reports that St. Louis Rams coach Jim Haslett said running back Steven Jackson's thigh injury was an example of how missing training camp can come back to haunt a player. "Guys don't go to training camp, and when they come back, they either pull a hip flexor, groin, something, and you hope it's nothing major that keeps them out," Haslett said. Haslett said Jackson's injury is related to him missing the first 27 days of the preseason, including all of the team's training camp during a contract holdout.

Our View:Jackson will sit out for the fourth time in five games this Sunday against the Chicago Bears because of a strained quadriceps muscle in his right leg that he suffered on October 19 against the Dallas Cowboys. The coach was blunt in saying that he was "mystified" that this injury has kept the running back out so long.
Steven Jackson, RBThursday 11/20, 3:38 PM CT
Steven Jackson will test his ailing thigh with a vigorous workout Saturday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Jackson will miss this weekend's game against the Bears, but is optimistic he can return to the gridiron in Week 13.
