Clinton Portis, RB Friday 11/21, 12:21 PM CT
Clinton Portis will be a game-time decision on Sunday, according to the Washington Post. He is still battling a sprained knee.

Our View: Portis pledged earlier this week that he would play Sunday at Seattle, "no ifs, ands or buts about it." We like his chances of being available, but he does figure to share more of the load with Ladell Betts and Shaun Alexander.
Malcolm Kelly, WR Friday 11/21, 12:09 PM CT
The Washington Post reports that rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly is feeling the best he has felt all season. His knee responded well after a full week of work last week, and the Redskins are hopeful Kelly could soon provide the big plays they envisioned when they drafted him.

Our View: Kelly should develop into a nice starter, but that seems unlikely to happen this season. Don't be surprised to see a nice performance or two before the season's end.
Clinton Portis, RB Thursday 11/20, 3:42 PM CT
Clinton Portis missed Thursday's practice while nursing his sore knee, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Coach Jim Zorn still expects him to play Sunday in a favorable match-up against the Seahawks' 21st ranked run defense.
Clinton Portis, RB Wednesday 11/19, 3:02 PM CT
Clinton Portis was limited in Wednesday's practice, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: His knee is still sore, but vows to play in Week 12 at Seattle. He should remain penciled into fantasy lineups, especially against the Seahawks' 21st ranked run defense.
Malcolm Kelly, WR Wednesday 11/19, 11:11 AM CT
The Redskins intend to get rookie Malcolm Kelly more involved over the closing weeks of the regular season, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Kelly has potential to develop into a solid starter down the line for Washington, but fell behind the curve as a rookie, while plagued by injuries, namely to his knee. He won't likely register much of a blip on the fantasy radar in the coming weeks.
DeAngelo Hall, CB Wednesday 11/19, 8:05 AM CT
DeAngelo Hall covets a long-term deal with the Redskins, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Coach Jim Zorn is also hoping Hall is a part of the Redskins' secondary beyond this season. Hall registered an interception in his debut against the rival Cowboys, which will help in his bid for an extension.
Shawn Springs, CB Monday 11/17, 1:02 PM CT
Shawn Springs should be back in action for Washington this week against the Seahawks, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Springs was reportedly going to play against Dallas, but he was unable to go due to his lingering calf issue.
Clinton Portis, RB Monday 11/17, 1:00 PM CT
As expected, running back Clinton Portis got fewer carries than usual against Dallas, and his knee got through the game fine, so he may be able to practice before the team takes on Seattle, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Portis carried the ball 15 times, and was fairly productive, with 68 yards. Should his knee hold up this week, fantasy owners should not hesitate to use him in a solid matchup against the Seahawks.
H.B. Blades, LB Monday 11/17, 12:56 PM CT
H.B. Blades will be a starter at linebacker for the Redskins with Marcus Washington out indefinitely with a high ankle sprain, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Blades has 31 tackles on the season, which is just six fewer than Washington accumulated.
Marcus Washington, LB Monday 11/17, 11:49 AM CT
Redskins linebacker Marcus Washington suffered a high ankle sprain in the team's loss to Dallas and will be out for an indefinite period of time, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Washington was battling a shoulder injury last week, and previously had suffered from hamstring problems. He had accumulated 37 tackles and forced one fumble this year.
Ladell Betts, RB Monday 11/17, 11:47 AM CT
Redskins running back Ladell Betts said that his previously sprained left knee, which kept him out of action for two games, is okay after carrying the ball once for a single yard and catching two passes for 27 yards, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Betts said he knew the knee was not 100 percent before game time, but that he suffered no setbacks and should be good to go from here on out.
Chris Cooley, TE Sunday 11/16, 10:32 PM CT
Chris Cooley led the Redskins with seven receptions for 47 yards in the loss to the Cowboys Sunday night.

Our View: Cooley is tied with Tony Gonzalez with 55 catches on the year. He has found the end zone just once, though.
Ladell Betts, RB Sunday 11/16, 10:30 PM CT
Ladell Betts had one carry for one yard and two catches for 27 yards before leaving Sunday's game after tweaking his knee injury.

Our View: We'll update you on Betts' status when more is known.
Clinton Portis, RB Sunday 11/16, 10:27 PM CT
Clinton Portis carried the ball 15 times for 68 yards and added two catches for six yards in the Redskins' loss to the Cowboys Sunday night.

Our View: Not a bad effort from Portis, who was playing through a knee injury. He has a nice matchup with the Seahawks in Week 12.
Jason Campbell, QB Sunday 11/16, 10:21 PM CT
Jason Campbell completed 22-of-34 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown with one interception in the Redskins' 14-10 loss Sunday night.

Our View: Another ho-hum effort from Campbell. He has only one noteworthy fantasy performance since Week 5, and that was against the Lions.
Clinton Portis, RB Sunday 11/16, 6:03 PM CT
Running back Clinton Portis (knee) will be active for the Week 11 tilt against the Cowboys.

Our View: Portis is likely to be limited in his role, and he could end up sharing with Ladell Betts, among others. Fantasy owners are still gambling if they use the tough veteran.
Colt Brennan, QB Sunday 11/16, 6:02 PM CT
Week 11 inactives: QB Colt Brennan (3rd), CB Shawn Springs, DT Anthony Montgomery, WR Malcolm Kelly, OL Jason Fabini, OL Chad Rinehart, DE Erasmus James, DE Rob Jackson.

Our View: Clinton Portis is active, but he will likely be limited. Ladell Betts returns and should share some of the load. The defense will miss Springs, but it's good news that Jason Taylor and Marcus Washington are able to go. Santana Moss, Chris Samuels, and Jason Kendall were other notable starters on this week's report.
Clinton Portis, RB Sunday 11/16, 10:19 AM CT
Running back Clinton Portis (knee) will be a game-time decision for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports.

Our View: Other sites have said that Portis is not expected to play, and previous reports noted that Clinton would play a limited role even if he is active. Fantasy owners should not risk using Portis.
Shawn Springs, CB Sunday 11/16, 8:52 AM CT
According to Pro Football Talk, Shawn Springs (calf) will play vs. Dallas on Sunday.

Our View: This is very good news for the Redskins' secondary in tough match-up against the Cowboys' receivers.
Jason Taylor, DE Sunday 11/16, 8:51 AM CT
Pro Football Talk confirms Jason Taylor will play on Sunday vs. Dallas.

Our View: Taylor could make Tony Romo's return from a finger injury tougher.
Clinton Portis, RB Sunday 11/16, 7:20 AM CT
Sporting News Today reports that it appears Clinton Portis won't be available for Sunday's game.

Our View: Even if Portis did play, he would be limited. Hopefully, you have your replacement ready.
Clinton Portis, RB Friday 11/14, 5:47 PM CT
Clinton Portis will be in a limited role for Sunday's game if his knee is ready, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Fantasy owners might be better off going with other options at running back for this week. Portis could still miss Sunday's game completely, but if he plays, it's unlikely that he'll be very productive in fantasy.
Clinton Portis, RB Friday 11/14, 12:39 PM CT
Clinton Portis commented on his injury and playing status for Week 11 against Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News. Portis said, "It's getting better, but I won't say, 'oh, I'm ready. You know, I have until Sunday to make a decision, so that's when I will make it. We're going to see how I feel before the game. We're going to find out."

Our View: He added that he has two days left to get ready to play. He hasn't practiced all week due to a sprained MCL in his knee. He was on the field Friday but only to watch. Portis expects to undergo six more treatments and two massages before the game.
Shawn Springs, CB Friday 11/14, 11:28 AM CT
Shawn Springs is doing individual work in Friday's practice, according to the Washington Post. He is recovering from a calf injury.

Our View: Springs holds little to no value for IDP leagues, but he is a solid NFL cornerback and will be needed while contending with Terrell Owens and the Cowboys' aerial attack this weekend. We will keep you posted on his status.
Ladell Betts, RB Friday 11/14, 11:23 AM CT
Ladell Betts is still dealing with his knee injury, but is likely to start over Clinton Portis this weekend against the rival Cowboys, according to the Washington Post. Portis is suffering from a sprained MCL.

Our View: Since Betts is banged up, Shaun Alexander should handle a favorable workload in support, against Dallas' 18th ranked run defense.
Clinton Portis, RB Friday 11/14, 11:16 AM CT
Clinton Portis is absent from Friday's practice while dealing with his knee injury, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Portis is unlikely to play in Week 11 against Dallas. Ladell Betts and Shaun Alexander would handle the workload at running back if he is ruled out.
Clinton Portis, RB Thursday 11/13, 3:40 PM CT
After thinking that Clinton Portis would be a game-time decision, reality set in for the Washington Redskins, and it seems unlikely that the running back will play in the team's game against Dallas, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Ladell Betts will get the start in place of Portis should he not be able to go, and Shaun Alexander will be his backup. The Redskins battle the NFC East rival Cowboys.
Malcolm Kelly, WR Thursday 11/13, 3:08 PM CT
Redskins rookie wideout Malcolm Kelly's knees are getting healthier, and he practiced once again on Thursday, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Kelly is still a long way from fantasy relevance, as he has played in just two games this year and has caught just one pass for six yards.
Shaun Alexander, RB Thursday 11/13, 2:09 PM CT
Running back Shaun Alexander practiced with the Redskins first-team offense on Thursday, as Clinton Portis sat out, and Ladell Betts was a limited participant, according to the Washington Times.

Our View: It's a good bet that Alexander gets some carries on Sunday against the Giants, but likely not enough to make a difference in fantasy leagues. Even if he, theoretically, were to get 20 carries, he'd still be a poor option against New York.
Clinton Portis, RB Thursday 11/13, 12:05 PM CT
Washington running back Clinton Portis has finally been able to straighten his leg, but he is not practicing, and it is a certainty that he will be a game-time decision, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Portis does not play until Sunday night, which means that it likely won't be possible to know his availability until after decisions have to be made on whether to put him into lineups or risk getting no points out of him.
Marcus Washington, LB Thursday 11/13, 8:25 AM CT
Redskins linebacker Marcus Washington is battling a shoulder injury, and will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Cowboys, according to the Washington Times.

Our View: Washington has 36 tackles and one forced fumble on the season, and his IDP value is limited.
Shawn Springs, CB Thursday 11/13, 8:24 AM CT
Despite coach Jim Zorn's confidence that defensive back Shawn Springs (calf) will take the field this week, that may not be the case, according to the Washington Times. "It's getting better but not as quick as I thought," Springs said.

Our View: DeAngelo Hall will play his first game with the Redskins, so Springs' absence may not be as crucial as one might expect. Washington plays a key divisional game against Dallas, so expect him to do every thing he can to get ready.
Clinton Portis, RB Wednesday 11/12, 3:50 PM CT
Clinton Portis is absent from the early portion of Wednesday's practice while nursing his sprained MCL, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: It appears that he could be a game-time decision for Sunday's NFC East showdown with Dallas.
Chris Samuels, T Wednesday 11/12, 12:17 PM CT
Chris Samuels is still experiencing pain his knee, but intends to fight through it and play in Week 11 against Dallas, according to the Washington Post. He said, "We've got a good team and we're pushing for the playoffs and I've got to be there for them."

Our View: This is encouraging news for the Redskins' offense as the elite left tackle will be needed while contending with sack artist DeMarcus Ware.
Shaun Alexander, RB Wednesday 11/12, 11:08 AM CT
Shaun Alexander should see action this weekend against Dallas with Clinton Portis "50-50" to play with his sprained knee, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: This is encouraging news, but Alexander is only averaging 2.3 yards over 10 carries and would not be a recommended fantasy option, especially since Dallas will be well-rested while coming off a bye.
Ladell Betts, RB Tuesday 11/11, 7:36 PM CT
Ladell Betts is still battling a knee injury but head coach Jim Zorn said on his weekly radio show, "he's probably in a little bit better position to be active as the week goes on. He is nowhere 100 percent yet, but I think he looks like he's gonna participate in practice."

Our View: With Clinton Portis not likely to play and Betts status it might be Shaun Alexander or Rock Cartwright this week.
Clinton Portis, RB Tuesday 11/11, 6:34 PM CT
NFL.com is reporting that Clinton Portis has a second-degree MCL sprain in his left knee that is causing him pain and won’t allow him to straighten his leg.

Our View: Even with the news of the MCL strain, Portis has not ruled himself out for this week. Portis owners should keep a close eye on him because it will be a surprise if he plays this week.
Leigh Torrence, CB Monday 11/10, 4:25 PM CT
Cornerback Leigh Torrence has been claimed off of waivers from the Washington Redskins, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Torrence was waived to make room for DeAngelo Hall, but he will likely find an immediate role in a Saints secondary that has struggled most of the season.
Jason Taylor, DE Monday 11/10, 2:42 PM CT
Jason Taylor is expected to return to the gridiron in Week 11 against the Cowboys, according to the Washington Post. Taylor's wound on his calf is fully healed, and the swelling has subsided.

Our View: Assuming he is healthy, Taylor would provide a boost to the Redskins' pass rush while contending with a Cowboys' passing attack that will potentially have Tony Romo back under center.
Shawn Springs, CB Monday 11/10, 2:38 PM CT
Shawn Springs is expected to play in Week 11 against Dallas following his bout with a calf injury, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: The Redskins' secondary looks to be in good shape against the Cowboys' aerial attack, as Springs is expected to return and the team added former Oakland cornerback DeAngelo Hall.
Santana Moss, WR Monday 11/10, 2:35 PM CT
Santana Moss' ailing hamstring is still a bit "tentative" but coach Jim Zorn expects him to play Sunday against the Cowboys, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: The Redskins are coming off a bye, and Moss was able to play through the injury in Week 9 against Pittsburgh, giving the speed demon good odds to play Sunday.
Clinton Portis, RB Monday 11/10, 2:30 PM CT
Coach Jim Zorn considers Clinton Portis to be 50-50 to play in Week 11 against division rival Dallas, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: He is dealing with a sprained knee that has gotten worse since the Redskins' last game November 3. If he misses the game, Shaun Alexander and Rock Cartwright would likely share the workload, as Ladell Betts isn't expected to be ready.
Reed Doughty, S Monday 11/10, 12:26 PM CT
Reed Doughty is favorably recovering from lumbar fusion surgery, underwent 10 days ago, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: The young safety will begin pool rehab soon and hopes to be running in two-to-four months. Barring a setback, he should be ready to fully practice in time for spring OTA's.
Leigh Torrence, CB Saturday 11/8, 1:54 PM CT
The Washington Redskins cut cornerback Leigh Torrence in order to make room for DeAngelo Hall on the roster, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Torrence had gotten some playing time, but he had his miscues as well, and it apparently cost him his job.
DeAngelo Hall, CB Saturday 11/8, 1:27 PM CT
Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is apparently no fan of Redskins cornerback and former Falcon DeAngelo Hall, as he said the player "needs to grow up," according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Hall apparently wanted to fight some Falcons players when the Raiders were stomped by them last week, and he had made divisive comments in the past, leading to his trade from Atlanta.
Shawn Springs, CB Saturday 11/8, 10:16 AM CT
Shawn Springs will likely move from cornerback to free safety for the Washington Redskins because of their acquisition of DeAngelo Hall, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Springs and the rest of the Redskins are on bye this week, which will give Springs time to acclimate himself to his new position.
DeAngelo Hall, CB Saturday 11/8, 9:55 AM CT
At least one of the reasons why DeAngelo Hall was released by the Raiders has become clear, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. In a meeting with current cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, owner Al Davis said that Hall wound not void the injury insurance in his contract that guaranteed him more than $16 million next year.

Our View: It should surprise no one that one of the reasons for Hall's release had to do with money.
Shawn Springs, CB Wednesday 11/5, 11:36 AM CT
Shawn Springs expects to return to the lineup in Week 11 against Dallas following the Redskins' bye, according to the Washington Post. He is recovering from a calf injury.

Our View: Springs holds little fantasy value in IDP leagues, but is the Redskins' most solid cornerback, and would provide a boost while contending with Terrell Owens and the Cowboys' aerial attack.
Santana Moss, WR Wednesday 11/5, 11:31 AM CT
Santana Moss stated that his ailing hamstring did not get any worse, and held up fine in Monday's loss to Pittsburgh, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: He plans to do nothing during the Redskins' bye in Week 10, giving him extra time to rest up for a key Week 11 match-up against the NFC East rival Cowboys.
Clinton Portis, RB Tuesday 11/4, 2:05 PM CT
Clinton Portis injured his knee during Monday's game against Pittsburgh, according to the Washington Times.

Our View: He was able to return to action, and is expected to be good to go in Week 11 following this week's bye.
Chris Cooley, TE Monday 11/3, 11:48 PM CT
Chris Cooley caught eight passes for 78 yards in the Redskins 23-6 loss to the Steelers on MNF.

Our View: Cooley now has 48 catches on the season but just one touchdown this season. He remains one of the top tight ends in the game, but some more scoring would be nice.
Jason Campbell, QB Monday 11/3, 11:08 PM CT
The AP reports that Jason Campbell threw his first interception in the third quarter against the Steelers on MNF. It was his 250th pass attempt of the season. Campbells' 249 attempts without an INT is the second best in NFL history behind only Bernie Kosar's 286 attempts at the start of the 1991 season.

Our View: Campbell had 11 INTs last season, but he has done an exceptional job protecting the ball this season. His conservative passing has played a big role in the Redskins good start to the season.
Demetric Evans, DE Monday 11/3, 11:01 PM CT
Demetric Evans played well in place of the injured Jason Taylor on Monday night against the Steelers. He had six tackles and two sacks on the night.

Our View: Evans has played well when given the chance, but this was by far his best game of the season. It's unlikely he has a similar game in the remaining weeks as Taylor should return soon.
Clinton Portis, RB Monday 11/3, 10:59 PM CT
Clinton Portis was held to just 51 yards on 13 carries and 73 yards on seven receptions as the Washington Redskins fell 6-23 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Our View: Portis entered the game with five consecutive 100-yard games but ran into a stout defense on Monday. He apparently injured his shin in the first half but was able to return to the game.
Chris Samuels, T Monday 11/3, 6:51 PM CT
Offensive tackle Chris Samuels is active for MNF against the Steelers. He has been dealing with a sore knee.

Our View: Samuels works Jason Campbell's blind side and opens up holes for Clinton Portis. It's unclear how much he will play but his presence is definitely a plus for the Redskins.
Shawn Springs, CB Monday 11/3, 6:47 PM CT
The Redskins accounced that CB Shawn Springs, RB Ladell Betts, DE Jason Taylor, WR Malcolm Kelly, OL Chad Rinehart, OL Jason Fabini, QB Colt Brennan, and DE Rob Jackson inactive for Week 9.

Our View: Springs could return for Week 11. He has not been as strong a factor in IDP leagues mainly due to nagging injuries as was originally hoped but he is still very valuable to the Redskins secondary.
Santana Moss, WR Monday 11/3, 5:52 PM CT
The Washington Post reports that it is likely that Santana Moss (hamstring) will play on Monday night against the Steelers.

Our View: Moss has been one of the best receivers going this season with five touchdowns and 658 yards through eight games this season. He faces a tough matchup on MNF.
Chris Samuels, T Sunday 11/2, 7:31 AM CT
Redskins offensive tackle Chris Samuels may not be able to play against the Steelers Monday night due to knee pain, according to the Washington Post. "I'll go out, warm up and see how I feel, but I don't know," Samuels remarked.

Our View: Not having Samuels would be a big blow to the Redskins, and has fantasy implications as well, as he covers the blind side of Jason Campbell and opens up holes for Clinton Portis.
Santana Moss, WR Sunday 11/2, 7:03 AM CT
Despite being listed as a game-time decision for Monday night, Redskins wideout Santana Moss says he fully expects to play in the game, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Moss is battling a sore hamstring, and he reported that he felt better as the week went on. He has been outstanding for fantasy owners this year, with 42 catches for 658 yards and five touchdowns.
Chris Samuels, T Saturday 11/1, 4:04 PM CT
Chris Samuels is still being bothered by knee pain, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: He looks to be a game-time decision for Monday against Pittsburgh, but will have an extra day to rest. The elite left tackle is the anchor of the Redskins' offensive line, and would be a significant loss if unable to go against a feisty and well-coached Steelers' defense.
Santana Moss, WR Saturday 11/1, 1:14 PM CT
The Washington Post reports that Santana Moss tested his sore hamstring while running under the supervision of trainers on Saturday and hopes to play against Pittsburgh. "I feel better today," Moss said. "I ran today. That's a good sign." Moss, however, did not make the sharp cuts required in route running, which would be the next step to determine the strength of his hamstring. "It was all just straight ahead," Coach Jim Zorn said.

Our View: The wideout has not practiced all week and he remains a game-time decision for Monday night's football game. He has 42 receptions and five touchdowns in eight games this season.
