Hurricanes center Matt Cullen is practicing with the team on Saturday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:Cullen had missed time with a groin injury, but he appears to be healthy at this point.

The AP reports that center Matt Cullen injured his leg the day before in a 3-1 loss to Edmonton. He will not be available on Sunday.

Our View:Cullen has four goals in nine games. The extent of the injury is not yet known.

Center Matt Cullen was held out of the final two periods for was what described as precautionary reasons. He absorbed a hit from Philadelphia's Nathan Guenin in the first period.

Our View:Cullen should be good to go. He was productive last season when playing. He accumulated 49 points in 59 games with the Hurricanes.

Matt Cullen was activated from the injured list on Wednesday, this according to NHL.com. Cullen has been dealing with the after effects of a concussion, though the symptoms have apparently subsided. With 49 points in 57 games on the year, Cullen figures to try help the Hurricanes to make it to the playoffs over the final week by adding offense to the club.

Matt Cullen will not be in the mix for Sunday's game because he's had a recurrence of concussion symptoms, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. "We'll have to look at this as day-to-day," Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford said Saturday. We'll have to wait and see how he feels over the next few days before a timeline might be set for his return.

Matt Cullen scored a goal and added an assist on Thursday night in the Canes 3-2 victory over the Wild. Cullen started out the year tremendously with 37 points in his first 39 games, but then injuries conspired to ruin his season. Since January 1st he has skated in only 15 games during which time he has totaled 10 points.

Matt Cullen netted two goals and a helper to assist the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 6-3 on Saturday. Cullen's goals to helpers ratio improved with his two scores Saturday, and now has 43 points on the season; 11 coming by goal.

The Hurricanes placed Matt Cullen on IR Thursday. Cullen suffering from distorted vision, the result of a Dec. 26 open-ice hit that's caused him to miss the last six games. There is currently no timetable for his return.

Matt Cullen is still suffering from distorted vision, the result of a Dec. 26 open-ice hit that has caused him to miss the last six games and 15 games overall. The Raleigh News & Observer reports that there is no timetable for Cullen's return. "It's slow. It's really slow," Cullen said. "It's taking awhile." An underrated playmaker, Cullen has 39 points in 44 games this year and has emerged into a legitimate No. 2 center, so the Hurricanes need to get him back soon if they hope to win the Southeast Division.

Matt Cullen still is dealing with some post-concussion issues. He was unable to play Thursday due to problems with his vision, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. "He's been looked at and tested and cleared," coach Peter Laviolette said. "And when he can't focus in, we give him some time off. I don't think there's an exact science to it. You can't look at it like a ligament or a bone and say, 'OK, this is four weeks.'" Cullen's mustered an impressive 39 points in 44 games, though he had just two since returning five games prior to Thursday's tilt. Cullen may well miss another extended stretch, so stay tuned.

Matt Cullen returned to action Thursday and played over 15 minutes in the loss at Ottawa. He missed nine of the previous 10 games with post-concussion issues.

Matt Cullen was on the ice for practice Saturday, as he tries again to work his way back from a concussion. "It's good. It's getting a lot better," Cullen told the Raleigh News & Observer. "It's turning into one of those things that's taking more time than I expected. It was a pretty tough hit to the head." Cullen attempted a brief return to game action at the end of last month, but had to call it off when the concussion symptoms returned. So don't expect him to play in games until he's 100 percent healthy, which may be a while.
