Center Daniel Briere notched two assists in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers. He also put five shots on goal and chipped in two penalty minutes.

Our View:Briere is a solid fantasy forward, and we look forward to many more nights like this throughout the season.
October 4, 2008
Daniel Briere recorded a goal and two assists in Saturday's 4-3 preseason loss to the Devils.

Our View:Briere looks to top 30 goals for the third straight season, and should remain a productive starting winger. He will turn 31 on Monday.
September 13, 2008
Daniel Briere will be moving to right wing alongside Mike Richards this season, according to PhillyBurbs.com. Simon Gagne will play on the left side.

Our View:Briere and Richards seemed to develop a nice chemistry last year, so this should be a good thing for both of their fantasy values.
September 8, 2008
Daniel Briere scored 72 points last season in 79 games for the Flyers, though he was also saddled with an awful (-22) mark, something he hopes to improve this year, according to Hockey Buzz's Bill Meltzer.

Our View:While Briere should continue to produce points, he should also improve on the defensive side of the puck as the entire Flyers roster will be more focused in that area of the game. Plus, a healthy Simon Gagne up front and an improved and more mobile blueline should aid in the transition game helping to limit defensive lapses with the puck.

May 18, 2008
Daniel Briere was held scoreless in Game 5 as the Flyers fell 6-0 to the Penguins.

May 15, 2008
Daniel Briere was voted the first star in the Flyers 4-2 victory over the Penguins to force a Game 5 after he scored a goal.

Our View:Briere came up big with his ninth goal after being held goalless for 4-straight games heading into this contest. It would talk a minor miracle for the Flyers to come back from being down 0-3, but they took the first step tonight.
May 14, 2008
Philadelphia Flyers coach John Stevens has told reporters that he is leaning towards new line combinations for their Game 4 battle with Pittsburgh, hoping to avoid elimination, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.

Our View:In practice today, Stevens sent center Mike Richards and winger Daniel Briere to the ice on a line together with winger Scott Hartnell. Briere was a force coming into this series but has just two shots on goal against Pittsburgh thus far (neither resulting in a goal). As a result, winger Vinny Prospal was moved to the R.J. Umberger line as the team hopes to find some way of lighting a fire under a roster that has failed to get the job done.
May 13, 2008
Daniel Briere ended a 3-game scoreless streak with an assist in the Flyers 4-1 loss to the Penguins in Game 3.

Our View:Overall Briere has eight goals and seven assists in these playoffs (15 games), though that pace has slowed a bit of late (three points in five games). He will need to come up huge for the Flyers to comeback from their 3-0 deficit.
April 30, 2008

Daniel Briere is the playoff leader in scoring as he generated 11 points over seven games, according to The Philadelphia Daily News. He scored six goals and five assists.

April 21, 2008
Daniel Briere scored his sixth goal of the playoffs, on the power-play, but the Flyers still fell 4-2 to the Caps in Game 6. Mike Richards also scored for the Flyers.

Our View:Briere has been on fire with six goals and four assists in six games, but unless he and his mates can find a way to win Game 7, these playoffs will go down as a terrible disappointment after a great regular season.
April 19, 2008
Daniel Briere assisted on both the Flyers goals in their 3-2 loss to the Caps in Game 5.

Our View:Briere has been one of the leading scorers in the playoffs with five goals and four assists in five games, and he is one of the main reason the Flyers lead the Caps three games to two in Round 1.

Philadelphia center Daniel Briere continues to shine in the 1st round of the NHL Playoffs, scoring his third and fourth goals of the series and adding an assist to the night in the Flyers’ 3-6 win over the Washington Capitals.

April 11, 2008
Daniel Briere, questionable to play most of the week due to an injured knee, not only played in Game 1 he was a force with two goals and an assist. Daniel Briere skated in about half of the Flyers practice on Tuesday while wearing a no-contact jersey in his attempt to make it back from a knee injury for the Flyers first playoff game, this according to the Philadelphia Enquirer. "I was on the ice for just over a half-hour and I'm feeling better and better every day, which is very positive," Briere said. "The good thing is we still have 3 more days to go before the first game, so I'm confident." The injury must be pretty bad, because Philly needs a win to make the playoffs and could really use Briere in the lineup. We'll let you know if the forward will be able to play this weekend.
April 4, 2008
Daniel Briere, who suffered the dreaded lower body injury on Wednesday (it appeared to be his knee), had an MRI that was clear and should suit up on Friday, this according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Flyers are clinging to their playoff lives and need all the bullets in their gun. Briere, who has produced 31 goals and 72 points in his first season in Philly, should be active on fantasy squads for tonight's tilt.

If you can overlook the (-21) rating, he has been a good source of points.

Briere also finished (-2) on the night to lower his season long mark to (-24). Briere scored 12 goals in his first 22 games with his new club, but since then he has a mere nine markers in 39 games. Things figure to turn around eventually, but with that horrid plus/minus, you need to look elsewhere right now for some production.
February 17, 2008
Daniel Briere failed to score for a third straight game, and Sunday nights tilt was the fifth time in six games that he has been held pointless. Briere still has 54 points, 30 on the power-play, in 58 games, but his plus/minus (-21) is hideous and with the way he has been playing of late he should probably be on your bench for the next couple of games while the Flyers try to figure things out.
