Ric Jackman is not ready to play yet due to a bad back, according to the LA Times. "He's still not there," coach Randy Carlyle said. "We're thinking there's progress. He's obviously better than he was three days ago. But it's not to the point where he's ready." Jackman hasn't played since March 22 due to the injury.

The Ducks acquired Ric Jackman from the Panthers Wednesday in exchange for a conditional draft pick, according to the AP. Jackman had a goal and 10 PIM in seven games with Florida this year.

Richard Jackman has asked the Penguins to trade him if he continues to be a freqent healthy scratch, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Jackman has been a healthy scratch for 12 of the Penguins' first 52 games. "I want to play hockey," Jackman said. "I don't want to be sitting out games. I'm 27 years old. It's a pretty important part of my career."
