October 11, 2008 Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro has swelling and fluid around his left knee, which he had surgery on in June, according to Our View:DiPietro did not play in the team's game on Friday, and it sounds doubtful that he will play Saturday against the Blues. |

October 6, 2008 Rick DiPietro stopped only 28 of 34 shots as he and his mates fell 6-0 to the Panthers on Monday night. Our View:DiPietro certainly looked fairly brutal, but the good news is that he was finally able to see some game action after off-season concerns about both his knee and his hip. He will continue to play his way into shape and has all the makings of being a solid second keeper. |

October 1, 2008 Rick DiPietro, who is recovering from left knee surgery, might be cleared to practice by the end of the week, according to Our View:Barring a setback, he could play in at least one of the final two preseason games Saturday in Boston and Monday in Florida.
