Cam Ward stopped all 31 shots he faced in the Hurricanes 2-0 victory over the Predators in their preseason matchup.

Our View:Ward has won 30-games in each of the past two seasons, but through three NHL campaigns his GAA is poor 2.97 and his SV% of .897 is decidedly sub par. He should pile up the wins, but the ratios knock him down the list into second goalie territory.

Twenty-four year old Cam Ward will once again see a ton of starts in net for the Hurricanes this after a season of 69 appearances, according to The News Observer. "I definitely like the workload," he said. "Fatigue wasn't a part of it. I have no excuses, for anything."

Our View:Ward had career-highs in wins (37) and shutouts last season, though his ratios were merely average (2.75 GAA, .904 SV%). Ward appears to be right at the bottom of first options in net this season, though he might better be used as a top flight goalie two.

The AP reports that Cam Ward gave up goals on two of the first three shots he faced and finished with 12 saves in 30 minutes on Wednesday night against Washington.

Our View:Ward had a mediocre 2.75 GAA last season while saving 90.4 percent of his shots on goal. He is not worth a starting spot on your roster.
