Hannu Toivonen has gone back to Finland to play for Ilves in the Finish Elite League, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Toivonen is still under contract with the Blues, but with Manny Legace and Chris Mason expected to play net in 2008, and with Ben Bishop and Marek Schwarz looking to develop in Peoria, Toivonen became the odd man out.

Hannu Toivonen will play often for the Blues down the stretch, as the team determines what his future will be with the organization going forward, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Manny Legace had played 28 straight games before Toivonen started last week. Toivonen has been horrible this year, posting a 3.49 GAA and .874 save percentage. He's not worth a roster spot on your fantasy team even with more playing time.

Hannu Toivonen was recalled from the AHL on Monday, according to a report on the AP. Toivonen, who was 5-6-0 with a 3.43 GAA before he was sent down, went 3-4 for the Peoria Rivermen. Chris Beckford-Tseu was sent back down to make space on the roster. Hannu isn't fantasy worthy anyway, so this is more of an informational report than anything as Manny Legace is the team's sure-fire starter in net.
