November 13, 2008
Owen Nolan had two assists, both coming on the power-play, in his first game back on ice after missing time with a lower body injury.

Our View:Nolan isn't likely to light up the scoreboard on a nightly basis despite six points in six games, so don't expect the hot start to continue. If you have been lucky enough to receive the benefit of his play in the early going, now might be the time to move him to a less savvy owner.

Winger Owen Nolan should play for the Minnesota Wild on Thursday when the team takes on the Phoenix Coyotes, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Nolan had one of the lower-body injuries that are now so famous in the NHL, but he has seemingly recovered. He has one goal and three assists so far this year.
November 12, 2008
Owen Nolan, who has been recovering from a lower-body injury, returned to practice Tuesday, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:He has not played since October 29 against Dallas. He was unable to finish practice as coach Jacques Lemaire told him to stop after he noticed Nolan slowing down. The team does not want to risk aggravating his injury, and it remains uncertain when he may play.
November 11, 2008
There is no timetable for Owen Nolan's return from a lower-body injury, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Upon his return, Nolan is only worth consideration as a backup for deeper leagues as he is only averaging 17 goals over his previous three campaigns.
November 4, 2008
Owen Nolan, who was placed on IR yesterday, will miss the remainder of the current road trip, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Nolan isn't owned in most leagues and can be dropped at this point since he'll be out for at least another week.
November 3, 2008
Owen Nolan has been placed on IR, according to the Star Tribune. Center Krys Kolanos was recalled from AHL Houston as the corresponding move.

Our View:He was going to be out for at least more than a week due to his leg injury, and the team placed him on IR to add depth with Kolanos.
October 31, 2008
The Star Tribune reports that Owen Nolan did not accompany the Wild to the West Coast on Friday. He has missed three games with an unspecified leg injury.

Our View:It was originally reported that he would play on Saturday, but this news makes that seem doubtful. The Wild are beginning a four-game road trip and will not play back home until November 13.
October 25, 2008
Owen Nolan will play for the Wild on Saturday after missing three games with an unspecified leg injury, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Nolan has played in two games this season and has one assist, four PIM and is a -1.
October 23, 2008
Owen Nolan will not play in Minnesota's game Thursday night but expects him to play Saturday against Columbus, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Nolan hasn't had much fantasy impact since 2001-02 with the Sharks. He probably won't be much of a factor this year either, especially if his leg injury lingers.
October 18, 2008
Owen Nolan will probably not play in the Wild's game on Saturday, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:Nolan has a leg injury, and though he practiced Friday, he will likely remain out for the time being.
October 13, 2008

October 1, 2008
Owen Nolan scored his first goal as a member of the Wild on Wednesday as they won 3-2 over Buffalo.

Our View:Nolan was signed in the offseason and is playing for his fourth team in four years. The right winger's production has declined in the twilight of his career, and his upside for this season is around 40 points.
September 24, 2008
The AP reports that Owen Nolan had an assist in his Minnesota debut on Wednesday night. The Wild lost 2-1 to Columbus.

Our View:Nolan scored 16 goals to go with 16 assists last season in 77 games with Calgary. His numbers figure to be pretty similar in Minnesota. The 36-year-old is playing for his third team in three seasons.

Calgary vetern RW Owen Nolan tried to will and work the Flames into the contention and the second round of the NHL playoffs, but his offerings fell short against a San Jose team on the prowl, taking the series-deciding Game 7 by a score of 3-5.

Our View:Nolan scored his third goal of the playoffs to break the game in favor of Calgary at 2-1 in the second period, but the team scored just one more the rest of the way and came up short.
April 14, 2008
Owen Nolan was named the First Star of Sunday night, according to NHL.com. He earned the honor by contributing two assists and the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over San Jose.

Our View:He was held pointless in the first two games of the series, and picked the perfect time to break out.
April 14, 2008
Owen Nolan capped off a big night and a big comeback by scoring the game-winner with 3:45 to go against the Sharks. The veteran forward also registered assists in the second period and earlier in the third. He was pointless in the previous two games of the series.

Our View:The former Sharks captain bites his old team, huh?
February 9, 2008
Owen Nolan scored twice for the Flames while Kristian Huselius and Alex Tanguay added two assists apiece in the Flames 4-1 win over the hated Oilers. Nolan has been a "glue" guy this season and not worthy of roster in any fantasy leagues, but he now has 14 goals and appears on his way to his first 20-goal season since 2002-03.
