The Toronto Star reports that defenseman Ian White could be traded due to an excess of capable defenders on the Maple Leafs.

Our View:White has yet to appear in a game this season, but Toronto had eight defensemen in practice on Thursday. Whether he plays or not, he does not hold any fantasy value.

The Toronto Sun reports that defenseman Ian White does not know why he has not played yet this season. "No, there's been no dialogue and no indications as to what the plans are for me," White said yesterday, when asked if he has talked to Wilson about his playing time, or lack thereof. "I haven't said a word and they haven't said a word to me since I've been here. So I have no idea." White, while subdued yesterday, said he will continue to work hard in practice, at defence and forward, and just "take it all in stride". "I'm kind of past the point of being frustrated. Now it's just, come here and work hard and whatever happens, happens," he said. "I'm paid to be here, paid to work hard, I have a lot of friends in the room, so I'll just keep working for the guys in here."

Our View:White had 21 points and 44 PIM in 81 games last season but seems to not be in the team's early season plans.

Ian White is believed to be on the roster bubble with the Leafs, according to the Toronto Star. Staffan Kronwall, Jonas Frogren, Jiri Tlusty, and Mark Bell are also in jeopardy of not making the roster.

Our View:None of the listed players would be expected to make an impact if they hang on to make the Leafs.
