October 26, 2008 Goaltender Dan LaCosta was called up Sunday by the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to the Our View:LaCosta, 22, stopped 15-of-17 shots in 35 minutes in relief of Norrena at Nashville on October 18 in his only action this season with the Blue Jackets. He has a 5-0-0 record with a 2.08 goals-against average and .929 save percentage in five games with the Crunch this season. Keep an eye on him as he could be a pleasant waiver wire pickup. |

October 19, 2008 The AP reports that Columbus Blue Jackets assigned goaltender Dan LaCosta to Syracuse of the American Hockey League on Sunday. LaCosta stopped 15 of 17 shots in 35 minutes of action after relieving Fredrik Norrena in a 6-3 loss to the Nashville Predators. Our View:The 22-year-old netminder is 4-0-0 with a 2.09 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in four games with the Crunch this season. He is 18-9-4 with a 2.42 GAA and four shutouts in 38 career AHL games. |
