Newsbreakers
November 15, 2008
Sergei Kostitsyn is questionable for Saturday's game due to body soreness, according to the Montreal Gazette.

Our View:He should be held out of fantasy lineups, as his status for Sunday's game against the Blues is uncertain as well.
November 7, 2008
Sergei Kostsitsyn had a goal and was a +1 Friday against the Blue Jackets.

Our View:Kostsitsyn has struggled offensively so far this season, and seems to have a down game to follow up every strong performance. Fantasy owners need more consistency than what Kostsitsyn can currently provide.
October 11, 2008
Forward Sergei Kostsitsyn helped the Habs to a 6-1 win by netting two goals and chipping in an assist on Saturday night. Both of his goals came on power plays.

Our View:We were hoping for improvement from the 21-year-old Kostsitsyn in his second season, and this is a good start.

Montreal Canadiens sophomore forward Sergei Kostsitsyn isn't convinced Russia's Continental Hockey League - known as the KHL - will threaten the dominance of the National Hockey League, and he reports no interest in leaving the NHL to find out, according to the Montreal Gazette. "Leave the best league in the world? No, thank you," Kostitsyn told Russian prospects.com.

Our View:Kostitsyn has two years left on his entry-level contract which pays him $816,000 a season. Kostitsyn scored nine goals and 18 assists in 52 games during his rookie season and is hoping for an even better campaign in 2008-09.

Sergei Kostsitsyn could be seeing more ice time, perhaps skating in place of the struggling Michael Ryder alongside Saku Koivu and Christopher Higgins, according to the Montreal Gazette. The rookie has five goals and 13 points in 21 games this season and has lit the lamp in each of his past two contests. He might be worth riding in deeper leagues if he does get more game action.
