Jonathan Bernier has posted a 2.50 GAA in the AHL so far this year as he has split work in net with Jonathan Quick, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Our View:Bernier will likely be called up later in the year as he is clearly the clubs netminder of the future despite the strong early season play of Erik Ersberg.

It appears that Jonathan Bernier might start in goal for the Kings when they open the season up in London, England this afternoon. "He's a remarkable young guy," coach Marc Crawford told the LA Times. Bernier should have a bright future in the NHL, but whether he sticks around for the long haul of this season is uncertain. The club already has Jason LaBarbera and Jean-Sebastien Aubin on the roster, so it's more likely that Bernier will head to the minors before he reaches the 10-game threshold. That said, if he sticks and plays well, he could be a decent sleeper on an improved Kings team.
