Newsbreakers
November 9, 2008
Mikhail Grabovsky had a goal and an assist during Toronto’s 6-3 win on Saturday against his former team, the Montreal Canadiens.

Our View:Grabovsky may be the best player on the Maple Leafs, who he joined in the offseason. He has six goals and two assists in the last four games and seems to have found all kinds of chemistry on a line with Niklas Hagman and Nikolai Kulemin. The skilled Belarussian had three goals in 27 career games with Montreal over the last two seasons and now has seven in 15 games with the Maple Leafs.
November 4, 2008
Mikhail Grabovsky netted two goals and an assist in the Maple Leafs' 5-4 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.

Our View:For the second straight game against the Hurricanes Grabovsky scored two goals. Four of his five goals are against the Hurricanes.
November 2, 2008
Mikhail Grabovsky scored two goals less than 4 minutes apart, but Toronto fell 6-4 to Carolina on Sunday.

Our View:Grabovsky had just two points through ten games this season. This could be the start of a hot streak, or an aberration in a fantasy irrelevant season.
October 21, 2008
The Toronto Star reports that Mikhail Grabovsky feels his goals will be coming soon. "I get lots of ice time," said Grabovski. "I know I need to score. I work hard in practice and I think soon my line will score goals. Maybe a lot of goals."

Our View:The 24-year-old had only three goals in 24 games last season. What's puzzling about Grabovsky shooting blanks so far is that he led the team in scoring in the preseason and his line generates so many opportunities. For now, he is only worth watching in fantasy leagues.
October 5, 2008
Mikhail Grabovsky scored a goal and had two assists on Sunday for the Maple Leafs.

Our View:Grabovski figures to see a lot of time this season as a top-6 forward if he can integrate his game into Ron Wilson's style of hockey. Grabovski will look to make the Canadiens regret losing him this off-season.

The Leafs will give Mikhail Grabovsky a chance to play on the top line this season according to TSN. Nik Antropov, Grabovsky and Alexei Ponikarovsky will skate on the first line in Wednesday night's exhibition. "I'm hoping they'll have some chemistry and I'll give them a chance to succeed," coach Ron Wilson vowed yesterday at the Air Canada Centre. "I won't break them up. I know what Pony and Antropov can do, but this whole thing is about getting Grabovski comfortable. His English isn't great and it helps that those guys are translating a lot of things."

Our View:Grabovsky came from the Montreal Canadiens, where he wasn't getting enough playing time among similar-sized forwards. In exchange for a second-round pick, the Leafs have a player whom general manager Cliff Fletcher targeted specifically to replace some of Mats Sundin's lost offense. "He's a small skill guy, very fast and he complements us," Ponikarovsky said. '"We played a couple of games against him in Montreal last year, but this is a different team, different situation and he's playing a different role here."
July 4, 2008
The Leafs have inked former Canadiens' center Mikhail Grabovsky to a one-year deal, according to TSN. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:The 24-year-old recorded three goals and six assists over 24 games with Montreal in 2007-08.
April 3, 2008
Mikhail Grabovsky will sit out Thursday's game due to the flu, according to TSN.ca. Grabovsky should be good to go in Saturday's season finale, but either way you shouldn't be playing him.
March 9, 2008
Mikhail Grabovsky was scratched for the second consecutive game on Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings. The Canadiens' rookie center left the team after learning he'd been scratched for Thursday's game at Phoenix, so don't expect the Belorussian to be playing in Montreal next season.
