July 19, 2008 Frans Nielsen reached agreement with the Islanders Friday night on a four-year contract worth $2.1 million according to Our View:The deal essentially guarantees Nielsen a spot on the NHL roster. Nielsen is considered a very smart player, and he could bring value to a fantasy squad down the line. In 102 AHL games, Nielsen totaled 30 goals and 52 assists for 82 points. |

March 1, 2008 Frans Nielsen's roster spot was taken Saturday by center Jeremy Colliton. The Isles' recalled Colliton from Bridgeport (AHL). Nielson is out 2-to-4 weeks with a shoulder injury. |
