October 5, 2008 Rod Brind'Amour (knee) appeared in first preseason game of the season on Sunday and skated for 15:04 seconds while recording three shots on goal. Our View:Brind'Amour has dealt with two surgeries to his knee this off-season, but appears in line to contribute once the games count. He has the makings of an extremely solid third center this season provided he can stay healthy. |

September 29, 2008 Rod Brind'Amour, who recently needed a cleanup procedure on the knee he had operated on this off-season, is closing in on a return to the ice, according to The News and Observer. "I don't want to put any time [frame] on it because I say one thing and they tell me something else," he said. "I understand both sides of it, and I'll definitely be in there when it counts." Our View:Even if he doesn't play in the preseason, it sounds as if he will be ready to go by by opening night on October 10th. It's unclear how he will hold up over the course of the season, but given his tenacity in the workout room he appears to be a solid bet to contribute this season. |

September 16, 2008 Carolina's Rod Brind'Amour underwent surgery on his left knee to remove torn cartilage, according to the AP. Brind'Amour tore his ACL in the same knee last season. Our View:Despite the surgery, Brind'Amour is expected to be ready to go for the regular season. He should be considered a solid player for fantasy leagues, but only if healthy, as he scored 51 points in 59 games a year ago. |

April 23, 2008 Rod Brind'Amour, out since surgery on February 15th because of a torn ACL, returned to the ice to skate on Monday, this according to the Charlotte News Observer. Our View:Brind'Amour participated in team drills and is looking to be at full-strength at the start of next season. He scored 51 points in 59 games this season before being injured and is the heart and soul of the team. |
