Jeff O'Neill will have an uphill battle to make the Hurricanes team as a free agent on a tryout, according to the Charlotte News Observer.

Our View: O'Neil has been practicing with some of the players on the club in preparation for the clubs official training camp. O'Neil will have to overcome the fact that he sat out last season as well as the fact that the club already has a strong threesome at the RW position in Justin Williams, Scott Walker and Patrick Eaves in order to make the club.

Jeff Hamilton is a free agent in search of a club, according to Hockey Buzz. Atlanta, Buffalo, Nashville and Washington are said to be interested in his services.

Our View: The speedy forward doesn't do much on the defensive side of the puck, but he has the hands of a sniper and could provide offense if given the right role, especially when you consider that he has scored 27 times in his last 128 games.
