Jordin Tootoo, RW Friday 11/21, 10:20 PM CT
Jordin Tootoo scored the lone goal for Nashville in Friday's 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay. The score was assisted by Greg Zanon.

Our View: He snapped a 10-game drought without a goal or an assist, and should fade back into obscurity after tonight's score.
Jason Arnott, C Tuesday 11/18, 8:58 AM CT
Jason Arnott only sustained a neck strain in Monday's battle with the Sharks, and could return to the ice Friday against the Lightning, according to the Tennessean. Coach Barry Trotz simply stated, "He's going to be fine."

Our View: This is good news as Arnott has been an anchor to the Predators' offense, as he scored eight goals and seven assists over 15 games.
Jonathon Blum, D Monday 11/17, 10:50 AM CT
Defenseman Jonathon Blum, Nashville's first-round pick in 2007, is having an outstanding year in the WHL, where he was sent after not making the team out of training camp, reports the Tennessean.

Our View: In 16 games for the Vancouver Giants, Blum has five goals, 15 assists and is a plus-19. Look for him to possibly make the team next season.
Dan Ellis, G Monday 11/17, 1:25 PM CT
TSN reports that Nashville goalie Dan Ellis won the NHL's third star of the week for posting a 3-0-0 record, .944 save percentage and 2.28 GAA.

Our View: Ellis' week has made up a bit for his slow start. His record now stands at 7-7-1 with a .898 save percentage and 3.02 GAA, so fantasy owners can think about using him as a No. 2 option.
Jason Arnott, C Monday 11/17, 8:13 PM CT
The AP reports that Nashville Predators captain Jason Arnott left Monday’s game against the San Jose Sharks in the first period with an undisclosed injury. The center skated toward goaltender Brian Boucher and lost his footing, sliding head-first into the net where he appeared to hit his head. Arnott was then carried off on a stretcher following a short delay with two seconds remaining in the session.

Our View: The 32-year-old has eight goals and seven assists in 15 games this season. His return seems unlikely at this point, and we can only hope he will not miss an extended period of time.
Jason Arnott, C Sunday 11/16, 12:31 AM CT
Jason Arnott had a goal and an assist on Saturday giving him 15 points in 14 games for the Predators this season.

Our View: Arnott is a solid fantasy option right now in all leagues.
Dan Ellis, G Sunday 11/16, 12:32 AM CT
Dan Ellis stopped all but one of Los Angeles' 34 shots on Saturday to earn his seventh win of the year.

Our View: Ellis still hasn't proven he can be a solid number one goalie, but starts like this will help.
Dan Hamhuis, D Friday 11/14, 11:54 PM CT
Dan Hamhuis had a goal and an assist on Friday against the Ducks. His first goal of the season was the game-winner in overtime.

Our View: Hamhuis doesn't have much fantasy value at this point.
J.P. Dumont, RW Friday 11/14, 11:57 PM CT
J.P. Dumont scored his third goal of the year Friday, giving him 18 points through 16 games for Nashville this season. Dumont is a +2 for the Predators this year as well.

Our View: Dumont has been a great source of assists this year and the occasional goal is just an added bonus for fantasy owners.
Martin Erat, RW Tuesday 11/11, 3:00 PM CT
Martin Erat missed practice Monday and is questionable for tonight's game against the Sharks, according to the Tennessean. He is dealing with an upper body injury.

Our View: He would be a tough loss for the Predators and fantasy owners if he cannot go, as he generated seven goals and six assists over 13 games this season.
Martin Erat, RW Sunday 11/9, 4:27 PM CT
Martin Erat is still dealing with the effects of an upper body injury though he is hopeful of being able to return on Tuesday to face the Sharks, according to The Tennessean.

Our View: Erat has seven goals and 13 points in the early going as he continues to function as fantastic secondary option off the left wing despite not possessing a "big" name.
Joel Ward, RW Friday 11/7, 9:43 AM CT
Joel Ward was injured when struck by Cory Sarich of the Flames Thursday, according to the Tennessean.

Our View: He was unable to return, and the severity of the injury is yet to be determined. He only scored four points over 13 games, and holds no fantasy value while working near the bottom of the depth chart.
Scott Nichol, C Friday 11/7, 9:47 AM CT
Scott Nichol returned to the Predators' lineup Thursday after being a healthy scratch Tuesday, according to the Tennessean. He said, "I'm just trying to interject a little energy, play with a little jam. Maybe I veered away from that a little bit. I want to try to help get our penalty kill back on track. That's been our bread and butter in the past. We take a lot of pride in that."

Our View: He replaced Ryan Jones, while defenseman Kevin Klein was back in the lineup for Ville Koistinen.
Pekka Rinne, G Thursday 11/6, 9:57 AM CT
Pekka Rinne is slated for his fourth start between the pipes Thursday against the Flames, according to the Tennessean.

Our View: Dan Ellis has been struggling, and Rinne seems to be the better option right now with a .903 save percentage and 2.59 goals-against average.
Pekka Rinne, G Thursday 11/6, 11:36 PM CT
Pekka Rinne lasted only 10 shots on Thursday night as he was pulled after allowing four goals to the Flames. Dan Ellis relieved him and allowed three more goals on 19 shots in the loss.

Our View: Rinne has been pretty terrible this season and clearly doesn't appear ready for prime time work in the NHL. Unfortunately Dan Ellis hasn't been much better, but as soon as Ellis is healthy look for Rinne to spend an awful lot of time on the bench.
Dave Legwand, C Thursday 11/6, 11:42 PM CT
Dave Legwand scored a goal, his second of the year, and added two assists in the Predators loss to the Flames. Martin Erat also scored a goal and added an assist.

Our View: Legwand has had a somewhat slow start to the year on the offensive side of the puck, so perhaps his effort tonight will get the old motor running for a player that the Predators desperately need to score.
Shea Weber, D Thursday 11/6, 11:44 PM CT
Shea Weber scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season, one was while short-handed, as the Predators fell to the Flames on Thursday night.

Our View: Weber has been one of the most potent weapons on the blue line in the early going and has clearly established himself as a force to be reckoned with now that he is healthy again.
Martin Gelinas, RW Tuesday 11/4, 1:40 PM CT
Martin Gelinas has signed with the Swiss club Bern, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Gelinas also spent the lockout season of 2004-05 playing for in Switzerland. He wouldn't have had any fantasy value even if he had decided to stay in the NHL.
Jed Ortmeyer, RW Monday 11/3, 9:16 AM CT
Jed Ortmeyer has been cleared to stop taking his blood-thinning medication, according to the Tennessean. He was taking Cumadin to dissolve a blood clot in his leg.

Our View: If all goes favorably without a setback over the next couple of weeks, Ortmeyer will resume practicing with the Predators on November 17. This is good news, but he holds no fantasy value.
Dan Ellis, G Saturday 11/1, 12:20 PM CT
Goaltender Dan Ellis missed Thursday's game due to a back injury, but he is available tonight against the Florida Panthers, according to the Tennessean.

Our View: Ellis has put up below average numbers and if you have another option, we suggest you use it.
Martin Erat, RW Saturday 11/1, 11:05 PM CT
Martin Erat scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over Florida.

Our View: Erat has already scored six goals over 11 games this season, and is on pace to shatter his season-high of 23 goals, set in 2007.
