Fedor Fedorov, W Monday 7/21, 4:04 PM CT
The Devils signed center Fedor Fedorov to an undisclosed deal on Monday, the Ticker reports. Federov, 27, was most recently in the NHL in 2005-06 with the Rangers. He spent last season with Dynamo of the Russian League.

Our View: Federov has been far from a dynamo in his 18 career NHL games (two points), and he won't have any fantasy value for 2008-09.
Scott Clemmensen, G Friday 7/11, 12:32 PM CT
Goalie Scott Clemmensen has left the Maple Leafs as he inked a one-year deal with the Devils, according to TSN. Terms were not disclosed.

Our View: He will hold no fantasy value next season as long as Martin Brodeur remains intact.
Vitali Vishnevski, D Saturday 7/5, 4:25 PM CT
The Devils are very close to the NHL salary cap due to the recent signing of Brian Rolston, and as a result they will be looking to cut payroll with Vitali Vishnevski likely being one target, according to the Bergen Record.

Our View: Vishnevski will most likely either be traded or sent to the minors to help ease the team's cash issue. Though he brings a nice physical game to the ice, Vishnevski is a non factor in the fantasy game with only 68 points and a (-27) in 552 career games.
Patrik Elias, W Saturday 7/5, 4:21 PM CT
As reported earlier on Rototimes, the recent signing of Brian Rolston to play center will most likely result in Patrik Elias moving back to his more natural position of left wing, according the the Bergen Record.

Our View: Elias hasn't been the same on offense in recent years with totals of 69 and 55 points, but if he were to skate with Rolston there seems to be a good chance that he could return to the realm of 30-goal, 70-point seasons of the past.
Bobby Holik, C Tuesday 7/1, 6:27 PM CT
Bobby Holik has left the Thrashers as he signed a one-year deal with the Devils worth $2.5 million, according to TSN.ca.

Our View: Holik will provide solid depth and leadership to the Devils, but is not likely going to challenge 20 goals next season, as he only averaged 13.6 over his three campaigns with Atlanta.
Brian Rolston, W Tuesday 7/1, 5:38 PM CT
Brian Rolston has inked a four-year deal with the Devils worth $20 million, according to TSN.ca.

Our View: Rolston decided not to sign a contract with the Lightning after the club recently acquired his rights from Minnesota. He scored 31 goals and 28 assists with Minnesota in 2007-08, and has reached the 30-goal plateau in three straight seasons.
Bryce Salvador, D Tuesday 7/1, 11:04 AM CT
Bryce Salvador agreed to a 4-year contract extension with the Devils worth $11.6 million on Tuesday, according to TSN. The Devils also resigned Jay Pandolfo, David Clarkson and Barry Tallackson.

Our View: Salvador is not worthy of any interest in the fantasy game coming off a season of 11 points and 54 PIM, but he is a valuable option in the real world on the ice.
