Robby Gordon finished 10th in the second stage of the Central European Rally, causing him to slip to seventh overall.

Our View: Gordon is going to return to Talladega this week tired, but probably also invigorated after getting to return to his passion.

Wood in Wood Bros 21

Jon Wood will drive the No. 21 Wood Bros Ford this weekend. Talk about trial by fire.

Our View: Once he gets locked into the draft, Wood should be o.k.. He finished second in the 2005 Nationwide support race on this track.

Allmendinger back in No. 84

A.J. Allmendinger will get the chance to race in his own car again while mike Skinner is in Kansas for the Craftsman Truck Series race.

Our View: With only 46 cars entered this week, Allmendinger should be able to make the show, but with the wild card of the draft in the mix, this won't be a very good test of how far the team has come.
